Campbell Soup plans more price increases to counter inflation

Things I used to buy for $2.99 are now $9.00! (Well, $8.99!)
I noticed, the last time i was shopping, the soup aisle and tuna fish aisle were empty because no one can afford the things they used to buy.
Campbell's soups have gone from $1.19 to $2.59. I use Cream of chicken and cream of celery a lot, like Pam!
We now have a whole new way of cooking, don't we!

That's exactly what my husband says; many food items have disappeared. I would buy a can of Campbell's Split Pea soup ... just to have when I craved it and now it is discontinued. I hate making a pot of it if I'm the only one who will eat it. Yes, I do freeze in individual servings. I guess I am just tired of cooking (from scratch).
 
I’ve switched to other brands mostly. With the high sodium and what seems to be more water in the product, don’t like the taste or the quality.

Progresso has some excellent soups. MY personal favorite is "New England Clam Chowder". (But not the one marked "light"). PS: my body seems to crave more salt, so I usually add a dash or two.
 
We've been trying the larger tins (540 mls) of Campbell's .. Butter Chicken, Chicken & Rice, and a couple of others I can't remember. They're pricey ($4 +) but we only buy when they're on sale.

My favourite Campbell's soups are mushroom and chicken noodle.
 
In addition to the higher prices, it seems that these canned soups are more "water" than actual ingredients, lately. We had a can of chicken noodle soup and a sandwich for lunch, a few days ago, and the noodles and chicken were little more than a half dozen tablespoons.
 
Everything is going to go up in price! Remember, all that "free" money the government gave out to businesses and to people during those "exciting" Covid days? Now, that people have been sitting at home and getting "free" money, the companies are going to raise the price on everything. It's known as "smart" business! I'm a lucky guy since I'm retired and outside of groceries, don't need much of anything. However, I'm sorry for those young people who are just starting out in life. I live in Canada and we have a debt of over 2 trillion dollars. Yes, "trillion" dollars. Sorry, but I wouldn't around much longer to pay that back. Just think of the interest on 2 trillion dollars!
