Hi, glad to say the sun has broken through the typical Manchester grey skies (for this time of year... well most times, really)

I've been trying out a few websites aimed at seniors, just turned 65 and my peer group have mostly given up the ghost :) Facebook is just getting too impersonal and commercialised and seems to be for those who like a soundbites and have short attention spans, no problem it's great for those that it satisfies! But I'm still determined to keep body, mind and soul as well exercised and balanced as it can be.

I'm glad to say I've never lost that childhood fascination with Life, The Universe and Everything, even though my path through it has been haphazard, exciting, fun and occasionally dangerous - and left me with the normal collection of scars, stories, anecdotes family and friends to ruminate on and discuss!

My Missus of 41 years and I have two grown kids and four growing grandsons as reward for our passions, patience, fears and fallibilities, haha.... I also enjoy walking, anywhere and everywhere - normally taking pictures, reading, writing, travel and surprises......

Haha, not a bad idea really, not angry, confused..... After 65 years of serious delving and head scratching, I've found that 42 is only a few decimal places out..... Cheers, thanks for response. S

Welcome from a dull, cold but dry .... so far.... South Cumbria! ;)

Thanks Pam, always good to get an update from our beloved Lake District. A few mates and I started the coast to coast last year - we're doing it as and when rather than all at once... it's a wining and dining club with beautiful walks thrown in really, haha... anyway we did the St Bees to Chap in three instalments and it was stunning. Can't wait for the good weather to continue on our way.

Hello, I know what you mean about Facebook, it's changed over the years, and not always for the best. I very rarely get anyone posting back or replying to things I put on there, even though I do a lot of sharing and commenting. I would like to find a website for seniors. I am 60 myself, but going on 35, you know what I mean. I have just had a total hip replacement, and am loving the result. I now feel like years have dropped away, it was terrible to be in such pain for so long, but now it's fixed. I need to get my body fit again, and my other joints more flexible, back to yoga I think. Life the Universe and Everything??? You quote from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Are you a fan? I have a signed first edition of So Long and Thanks for All The Fish, signed by the author himself one day when he came to Manchester.

I'm a driving instructor, for my pains, and I wish I could stay off work but have to go back, I need the money. I also make handcrafted jewellery in my sapre time, like cinema, books and Youtube, and eating (shhh!). I live with my husband of 35 years, in north Manchester, and we have no children, just two tatty cats. Anyway, nice chatting with you. Perhaps you can fling one back at me sometimes.

This Thread is Over a Year Old, Y'all

soundflyer started this thread nearly a year and a half ago and hasn't posted since then. Is he/she still here to read these current replies?

Thanks Guitarist. Now I don't have to welcome him.

Also, I seldom welcome new members who don't fill out their profile.

Why waste my time.

It took me a while to figure out how to fill out my profile, and what I wanted to say. I've been to places that it turned out I revealed too much in my profile. One cannot unspill the milk. I figure the person who is signing up needs some time to figure that out.
