What Will Happen Wen Queen Elizabeth ll Dies

When the Queen dies there will be a funeral her eldest living son, or as dictated by the current law of primogeniture(which will change for the next generation), will take over. If Charles dies before her that could make state visits to the US by King Andrew a bit problematic!

That's the way we do things and have done, with the odd hiccough, for centuries!
You don't have to worry about King Andrew, but there is an outside chance of a King Henry. (Prince Harry's birth name.)
The line of succession is:
The Prince of Wales.
The Duke of Cambridge.
Prince George of Cambridge.
Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
Prince Louis of Cambridge.
The Duke of Sussex.

Thanks Mike for posting this, I think it was intended as a serious thread and I found it interesting in spite of the posts making funnies about what happens after Elizabeth's passing.

No doubt this side of the pond the voices demanding that Canada becomes a republic will grow louder.

Prince William is in line to the throne long before Andrew if Prince Charles was to die before the Queen...

Afraid not.

The law of primogeniture prevails. The crown passes from sovereign to son.

If Charles doesn't have the crown when he dies he can't pass it on to his son and it goes to the next eldest son of the sovereign, which in this case if Charles is gone, would be Andrew.

A distasteful prospect, bot that's the law!

So then if the crown went to Andrew would his daughters then fall next in line to the throne after Andrew?

Obviously William and Harry would still retain their title of Prince but what about their kids?

This just boggles the mind.

If Prince Charles dies before the queen, many speculate his brother, Prince Andrew will become king.

However, that is not entirely true. While anything is possible, the line of succession won’t change should Prince Charles die before the queen.

That means, Prince William will take his father’s place as heir apparent and become King of England once the queen passes or steps down from her role (another possibility, according to The Sun).

Didn't the queen already ban Andrew from royal duties after the Epstein scandal? It seems by that alone, he would be ineligible.

I have a feeling the queen long ago had already set things up for William to take the throne after her death or if she steps down.

Until then, William will be the heir apparent. Andrew will not be
taking any throne IMO.

There is no doubt the Queen is a much beloved woman. She will have had a long, long reign. And that means a succession of very old men in their late 70s and 80s, 90s. If they have inherited the Windsor long live gene. I'm not a Brit, so I don't know how the nation will adjust to extremely elderly men on the throne, vs. a long reigned Queen. Also I wonder if the Queen's passing will be an impetus for other states to dissolve ties to the British Monarchy.

Should Charles become King, what title does whats-her-name get?
If by what's her name you mean #6's wife I think it will remain the same as it is unless of course Charles doe slim down the Monarchy and removes their current titles, which will result in #6's wife becoming Princess Henry Windsor.

If by what's her name you mean Camilla, she will become Queen Consort.

That's the one I was thinking of. Thanks!

For some reason, I don't like the term "Consort", It's akin to "sex bunny", or "bed mate". To me, consort means, "Hey, sailor...." Can't they come up with something better- maybe 'Queen-In-Law".

How about Concubine-in-Waiting? 👑
A queen consort is the wife of a reigning king. A queen consort usually shares her spouse's social rank and status. She holds the feminine equivalent of the king's monarchical titles, and is crowned queen. This is why the current queen's mother was known as Queen Mother. A queen consort retains her rank until her death.

The title of Prince Consort for the husband of a reigning queen is the name of the rank given to a British male consort. Some countries that retain a monarchy do use the title king consort but not the British.

A transcript of a bedtime conversation between Prince Charles and Camilla was published just a month after the heir to the throne and Princess Diana announced their official split. Recorded in 1989 when the Prince and Princess of Wales were still married, the six minute conversation was branded "sick" by Princess Diana. The transcript - dubbed 'Camillagate' caused shock waves throughout the Royal Family as it exposed the relationship between the Prince and Camilla, who at the time was married to Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

Given the shenanigans of Camilla & Charles, maybe consort is a most apt title.

What Will Happen When Queen Elizabeth ll Dies?

There will be the most massive and spectacular state funeral, because of the Queen's popularity and her long reign, the biggest ceremony ever seen, and watched round the world by hundreds of millions of people.
