Never visit a place again!

I saw this discussion on another forum, and thought it might be interesting here. The subject was: What place that you have visited would you never want to go back to again?

If there are more than one, name the worst one and tell us why.

West Lorne, Ontario. Stopped for lunch there one day on a road trip and had an uneasy feeling approaching the town. The feeling intensified into a panicky feeling of just wanting to get out of there in the restaurant. Left without ordering.

I don't know if I believe in reincarnation or not but maybe something very bad happened to me in another life there.....theme from Twilight Zone plays.

All the above but personally would add Seattle WA. High prices, everything smelled like fish and the underground market was cheesy. Niagra Falls was a big disappointment. There was construction on the bridge and the US customs gent was rather a pain in the arse. Little man with an attitude. Made me completely unload the car, trunk and all with lookie loos judging me. All long before 911.

Moscow Russia. We were there on their rainiest September ever. The people never smiled, and thought Americans were idiots because they smiled a lot.
The traffic was a nightmare. At one point we watched a particular woman walking pass us three times!

Branson Missouri
I hear you! We live about 100 miles North of Branson, and we went down there, Once, several years ago. The traffic was ridiculous, and the crowds were overwhelming. Outside of a couple of museums, we didn't find anything worth re-visiting. There's some good shows for Country and Western fans, and some good amusement park areas for families with kids, but that's about it.

Marriage 3 times!;)šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

Seriously, most often the problem is the people in a place. i haven't been able to afford to travel as much i'd like...have a bucket list in case i ever can--but while i'd have to contend with airports and cities getting to the places i want to see---most of them are more sparsely populated, which while i want to see them for other reasons would be a bonus.

i really like many individuals but find large groups of people very vexing most of the time.

Place? The dentist.

Seriously, I can't think of a place I'd never want to see again. Oh, I got one ~ Molokai (Hawaii). At the time that I went, it was the most boring place on earth. Didn't have much to see in comparison to Oahu and the other islands.
Me, the history of Molokai would have brought me down--it's where the Leper Colony was.
i lived in Honolulu for a while--in Manoa Valley and then in a neighborhood an easy walk to Waikiki. Back in the 70's. Actually rented bicycles to tourists at a T-intersection in Waikiki with Beach and Zoo each just across a street from me. When my Navy son retired in 2014, after 16 yrs stationed at Pearl Harbor (1st 4 were shore duty at Whidbey Island, WA) he flew us out there for a visit. The changes to Honolulu broke my heart. We took a drive to North Shore.

There were 3 nurses at the hospital that were planning to go to Hawaii. Well, I wanted to go too. So, I went. I enjoyed Oahu.

A hotel resort in Corfu Greece called... Agios Georgios ( believe me this place couldn't have been further from Gorgeous as the name suggests)... we arrived at 11pm due to the ridiculous flight times in and out of Corfu.. from the UK ( at least then.. which was 23 years ago)... the airport is /was tiny ( I've never been back so I can't tell what might have changed if anything)... we'd paid for an apart-hotel with pool, ..the coach which was held together with sellotape which picked us up from the airport ..I swear,.It rattled it's way in the pitch dark over unmade cliff roads with a sheer drop ( we didn't see those until the next day when we hired a car) , no street lights, up through the mountains took 4 hours to get us there, in the pitch black dropping people off on the way to various destinations.. . We were last and he dropped us and another couple off in a field.. and drove off.. . We were in the pitch dark in a mountain scrub-land.. couldn't see a thing in front of our faces...we literally had to light lighters to see who we were standing next to..

This place was nowhere near a beach as they led us to believe, and we stood there not knowing what to do or where to go.. until finally some caretaker came along with a torch, and shone our way to the most dilapidated block of apartments I've ever seen ( still no pavements) ..I thought these apartment were in the process of being demolished..they were so bad..

He proudly opened the door to our apartment.. we could barely see in from the tiny light on the communal balcony.. but we could see that the whole place was flooded... as the water gushed out onto our feet...

He let us into the apartment next door which was mouldy and damp, had a one ring stove.. and one little pot to cook with which must have been something from Noahs' ark by the looks of it's age..

Anyway things just got steadily worse from there.. the ''hotel'' pool was unusable it was filthy. with green slime..the loungers were filthy or broken.... and so we called the reps for the travel agency for an emergency meeting in the one and only cafe on site.. the next morning.

We all arrived with our list of complaints..people who had got there before us the previous day and us.. however the cafe was completely unusable, because there was more cockroaches than flies in there, and there were hundreds of flies, ..on every table... it was disgusting... so in the end there was an angry altercation outside with the reps who were uninterested, and the disgusted tourists..

anyway... 15 years on.. some people took their complaints to the press... of the same resort..so nothing had changed by 2016.. according to this article from 5 years ago....and I doubt anything will have changed now..

Alaska, years ago. We went up there to go halibut fishing and didn't even stay, just flew up, made the drive to the communal home that was not acceptable, made the drive back to Anchorage, went to the movies to watch back to back movies until the flight left for home again several hours later. What a rip off.

To be honest, I really can't think of a place I wouldn't visit, again. Yeah, some people were rude, unaccommodating, and miserable people, but you 're going to find them anywhere; you go, and that describes my family. I did get stuck in a massive traffic jam in the middle of New York State. It was a holiday weekend traffic, a huge music festival, and a big horse race- all letting out at the same time. I was stuck in traffic for most of the 80s.

Many years ago, can't give a specific place .... but traveling by car on a trip out West, on Rocky Mountain roads that were way too narrow and too dangerous to this person (who has a fear of height anyway!) ... No railings or anything on the mountain roads.
There were people on those divided highways flying by at high speed pulling trailers, etc.

I remember thinking to myself, wonder how many accidents/bodies never found down those steep cliffs?

Guangzhou

An industrial pit
Air quality sucked
The people, however, were nice

Just don't take a cab in Shenzhen
You'll end up naked, out somewhere.....if yer lucky

Also, places south of the US border I don't care to go back to
