I know you guys, and so am I tired of Covid talk - but DANG... Another Variant??

"You keep trying to defend yourself"

No she is explaining. Also the only thing she has to keep defending here is her right to choose to do more research in order to make a comfortable decision. Instead of accepting that, she gets people trying to tell her what to do or change her mind.
Thanks Becky - whewwww. I could not have stated it any better. I had a friend tell me the only reason she was thinking about taking it is because she is being pushed by others. I told her do her research first. I have never been a "follow the leader" type person.

My cousin in her 70's has moderate COPD and is diabetic and had Covid, she said it was like a bad case of flu but she survived and as had no worsening or any kind.
My second mom is 84 yrs old, allegedly had Covid. She has underlying conditions - she spent time in the hospital but is doing ok. She shared with me 4 physicians informed her not to take the vaccine.

1 in 500 US residents has died of Covid-19

"The United States has reached another grim milestone in its fight against the devastating Covid-19 pandemic: 1 in 500 Americans have died from coronavirus since the nation's first reported infection.
As of Tuesday night, 663,913 people in the US have died of Covid-19"

How much worse will it get in the months ahead, I hate to even think about. At some point we have all got to get on the same plan to beat this virus. As it stands now, we may never truly get back to normal lives.

So long as half our people continue to refuse the vaccines, and ignore the mask/distancing suggestions, this virus is going to be a major problem. With the football stadiums returning to full capacity, and the holiday seasons quickly approaching, I suspect that the death toll will reach 750K by years end, and the hospitals will continue to be swamped.

The longer this virus lingers, the more likely that it will mutate into variations that will require modified vaccines in the future.

Yeah, I read that last night. That is truly incredible. We're living in interesting times, that's for sure.

Our son has been allergic to most vaccines, a small pox vaccine would kill him, needless to say he avoids most things in needles. In March of 2020 he caught Covid-19, he was so sick temp went to 104.6. We tried in vain to get help for him , I was calling him 4 times a day until he told me I didn't need to call so often. I knew then he was starting to recover. Then when his age group got to have the vaccine he got the vaccine, 1st and 2nd doses. I called every day for a while, he was OK just a sore arm for a couple of days. You might ask why , he said he never wanted to get Covid again and he figured the shot couldn't possibly make him that sick!

So now 1 in 500 have died from Covid. What number will it take for the non-vaxxers to finally get vaccinated? 1 in 100? 1 in 10? Who said that the world would end in a whimper, not a bang? T.S. Eliot. Is this the whimper?

I didn't see my husband for a month before he died because of Covid. Just phone and video calls. After being together for 50 years, I always thought one of us would be there when the first of us passed away. It haunts me.

Sorry, but I have little patience for those who won't take advantage of the one thing that would end this hell if only everyone would get vaccinated. It might not keep everyone from getting one of the variants, but there is a better chance of surviving.
Sorry for you loss, an awful thing. And I can understand how you feel about this...

All viruses mutate, new variants are the way things work, no surprise. Its why vaccines have to be updated. This virus is just unique in that we are studying and the media is reporting on every new one.

JMO but it's not the unvax people...they don't have that much power. They came out with a vaccine that claimed it will keep vaccinated people out the hospital. Only numbers are reported. What's the health status of people that are dying? Do they have underlying conditions? What's the age category? Family members are not allowed to visit 😰. Hospitals are paid greatly for patients dx with Covid and could their death be something totally different? If you really think about it..look who is blaming who..the plan is working accordingly. Again, jmo...not facts but my POV. My heart goes out to those that died of Covid and we all do what is best for us.
