Hi Lucy.
In my opinion, living alone , and happily so, is a matter of how we think.
If we want, ever so much, to have a mate, then it is likely we will be miserable.
If on the other hand, if we enjoy complete freedom of movement, and the freedom of doing what we please, any time we bloody well choose, then it can be quite pleasant.
One way to think about this is you never have to conform to anyone else's wishes (demands ?)
If I may offer a few suggestions ?
Do you have any particular desire to learn new things ? Take a class. Cooking. Painting. Pottery. The list of possibilities is literally endless.
Keep busy. Above all, keep your house clean.
Have a specific daily routine.
Maybe a new pet ?
Watch the best movies you can find.
Exercise, even it is only walking, is a HUGE help with emotional health.
Get a good book and lose yourself in it.
Spoil yourself. If you feel like eating, X, Y, or Z, then do so.
