Who was your favorite character on the original Star Trek?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
I know! Spock, Spock, Spock! Mine too! And secondly, "Bones" Dr. McCoy!
But the dialog on Star Trek MADE the series, IMO. So, Gene Roddenberry and the other screenwriters deserve some homage too!
Which character did YOU like the best?

Bones, he was a great counterpart to Spock who would be my second choice.

When I laid on that table during all those prostrate cancer radiation treatments, all those sophisticated machines moving about reminded me of that show. These treatments went on five days a week for nine weeks. I entertained myself as I stayed motionless. Spock controlled one machine, Scotty another, and Bones the other. They made a variety of noises as they moved about methodically, I envisioned that they were talking to each other as they went about their work. I counted the beams every day as the machines changed their angle.

An imaginative mind can help even in the most unpleasant of situations.

Capt. Kirk was not there, and it took me weeks to realize that he was actually behind the lead shield putting the moves on the good looking female medical technician.

My prostrate cancer has been cured and I am emerging from the grip of this three year ordeal including those hormones shots that took my PSA and my Testosterone to zero. I was a "completely harmless male" that entire period and was treated to all the symptoms of menopause including emotional effects and serious "hot flashes" which I now know are not the product of female imagination.

I credit Star Trek with keeping me from going stir crazy during all those treatment, and I credit this forum with giving me insights that I needed.

Thank Ladies!!

Funny story: I was on a cruise of the Scottish Inner Hebrides, and at dinner I sat next to the ship's Scottish engineer. I said, " if you do not mind, I have a request". He said,;"Yes, what is it?"
I said, would you say "Captain, I canna get more than warp 3 from the engines". He was not amused.

Spock was my favorite, but I also liked Ensign Janice Rand

I was going to say, Spock, but without Jim, Bones and the rest of the crew? I dunno. I think Gaer was on to the reason the show was so good-the writing. The characters were so artfully interwoven, so they complimented each other.
And while it's not a human character, I loved the Enterprise. It is such a cool ship.
