Now we must scan menus. No paper allowed

Since Covid the unrealistic fear of touching something has more restaurants making us scan their code maze with your cell to see the menu. The chances of getting Covid from a menu is almost zero.
They have no print menus; I have been to 3 of these near me. I refuse to order, even if I have my cell phone..l
I do not carry it. Owners do not care if you walk away. This saves them money (no menu) and they can change prices whenever they want. Stupid idea. They could have throw away menus on paper or post
the menu. But this is too easy. Small independent places do whatever they want, are not interested whether seniors eat there. They think this is cool--haha. Of all the age groups, older seniors dine out less and less.
Anyway, the print on their menus is so tiny I can't read it. If it is posted on the wall, I need binoculars.
What's another word for moronic?

We don't visit a restaurant very often...perhaps once or twice a month. Over the past year, we notice that most of the places we stop at have gone to a paper menu that they throw away after it has been handled by a patron. A couple of weeks ago, we stopped at a Perkins. They handed us a menu with No Prices. We have stopped there many times over the years and usually pay around $12 each for their "Senior" meals. We asked the server about the price, and it was $18. Rather than making a "fuss", we just ordered and ate. However, if we are handed such a menu in the future, I think we'll just get up and leave.

Even pre-covid I found menus to be pretty gross to handle (maybe because mostly went to family friendly restaurants), so I might feel okay with the changes. I guess I've only gone through drive-thru since covid, so same old big board to read.

Restaurants seem to like these little savings. I never liked touching menus, they’re usually dirty.

Perkins is a strange place to not have prices on the menu.

Well I have always been of the faith that if I walked in to the kitchens of all of the places I have eaten at I would stroke out so I don't worry about the menus

@fmdog44 I often think of that myself but I can't live in a bubble.
I don't know what I would do with having to view the menu on my phone. I carry a little flip phone with minutes for emergency only.

Also I dont understand why restaurants and other retail (not corporate) are dark, have little or no lights on. Is this a national trend? I don't even know if it is open. So they save money and lose business.

Here all our restaurants are using plastic-covered menus. After you order the waitress takes the menu & hands it to another person that spray & wipes them down to be used again.

I asked what happens if they want to change the menu? She said we have it on our computer in the back, we change the menu then print out new ones that Laminate them in plastic. She said we get a lot of older people that "need" larger pictures & type to see what's on the menu.
