I want to upgrade my Camera to one that can take focused up close pictures of tiny flowers/insects.

Before making a purchase I want to know if there is a light activated camera on the market?
Someone mentioned their camera was light activated and was perfect for getting those elusive Lightning shots.
Anyone here know of such a function on a camera?

Don't know what kind of DSLR camera you've got, but if it's a relatively newer model, maybe invest in a good macro lens.

Good optics are everything in photography.

If you don't have an understanding of 'depth of field' - google up on it - it'll make for better images...

post some of your pics...

My camera is very basic and I will be buying another one with a macro lens.
My question is, is there a light activated camera on the market?
I have a few bird pictures on my profile page but they are not of the best quality because all were taken using the zoom which is not the best.
Hence the desire to purchase a new camera with macro lens for the small stuff.

Can't really say, since I'm not conversant with current DSLR technology.

I'm kinda old school here.

Back when I was using a SLR, I relied on a hand-held lighter and adjusting the aperture and shutter speed...

Today's photo manipulation software are yesterday's darkrooms
