If I had no television....

We are TV people. TV was born about the same time as me. We grew up together. Right from our earliest years, TV had Sesame Street, etc. TV is such a part of us, I don't know how we can live without it. Can you picture a motel room that doesn't have beds and a TV? BTW, computers are slow TV. Plus, smartphones also provide the TV experience. To answer this thread, it's what do the Amish do in the evening? Yuk, sew and read??????
 
I don't spend too much time watching TV, no morning programs, and can't stand idiotic shows.. that there too many of...
.. don't have cable..so no "hundreds" of worthless shows..50 channels, is enough

PBS..to learn a little more...
Spend "too much" time on tablet..but you can,sometimes, learn something new every day.
Listen to audio books
 
Yikes am no longer much a TV or Movie person. Occasionally fine, daily habit not. Long ago decided I would rather live my life instead of watching others do so. At home have always been too busy. Free leisure time is more often reading books or watching on computers science and technology.

I did watch endless TV growing up in the 50s/60s but as an adult less and less each decade. In last 3 decades have watched so little that I've been OTA without cable. A bit of daily local TV News, some sports, some PBS nature and science. Do like science fiction but not fantasy, superhero, horror.
 
I usually join my hubby in the evening to watch TV. Most of the time I'm bored stiff. If he were to go before me the TV would be the first thing I would throw out.
I have so many hobbies and books to read there aren't enough hours in the day.
I refuse to step foot in restaurants that have a TV on the wall. Apple Bees is famous for that.
I did that once and ended up talking to my glass of ice tea.
 
Definitely I'd be on the computer even more than I am.

I spent maybe 10+ years of my adult life without a TV and pre-computers and at those times in addition to reading, I'd play solitaire, and even board games like Monopoly and I'd be all the players (pathetic I know!). I spent more time cleaning my house. And when I got into horses I'd be at the barn riding or cleaning the horse and/or the manure.
 
I've never been a big television watcher. Even while living on my own in my early 20's, while I owned a t.v. set, it was rarely turned on. I guess because, as a kid, Dad dominated the set and watched either news or sports, which I wasn't interested in. Ed Sullivan on Sunday evenings was about all I watched back then.

These days, I stream what I want to watch on the computer. That's become rarer as it becomes harder to find safe streaming sites.

I read a lot.

Yes if you have a shortwave radio there are a lot of Amature (ham) radio operators everywhere that you can listen to them. I know as I'm one of them.
