I've helped people and animals over the years when they needed help and I was able to do so. It comes naturally when the situation presents itself, not much forethought or afterthought. My husband is the same way.One time I helped a lady who got herself into a parking pickle.
She was trying to park her car but got too close to a wall and then she was too timid to move away from the wall lest she hit it.
I offered my help, she accepted, I parked the car without a problem.
I've done the same for older or handicapped folks in a wheelchair or store electric scooter. Also, if someone is just too short to reach something on the top shelf regardless of age. There has been a couple of times when I was getting some items from a top shelf, took the first couple and wanted more but couldn't reach back that far. I've asked a taller person nearby if there was no store worker around, and they always helped me. I think this should come naturally for all of us, someone is struggling to do something, just offer help. Usually takes little effort yet is much appreciated.Wherever I am, whenever I can, we always do without pushing ourselves on to people. I was upset last week though, stopping by the market to get a few extras for our party. In one of the aisles I saw a woman in a wheelchair. I stopped and asked if she needed help with anything from the higher shelves. She said she did, so I got what she wanted and put it in her basket. What upsets me is that many customers would have passed her by and no one asked. She told me she did not want to trouble anyone. What was worse, she said one of the store helpers walked right past her and did not stop. When I got home I rang up the store head office and ask what they can do for people who needed this help. They say they will look into it and get back to me. I shall be in touch with them again if I do not hear.
Sadly SeaBreaze what comes naturally to some, others ignore, but every little bit helps.I've done the same for older or handicapped folks in a wheelchair or store electric scooter. Do unto others...I will always help people if asked, but hesitate to help if not asked due to fear of offending or scaring potential recipients of aid. My current mission in life seems to be helping short elderly ladies reach items on high shelves at supermarkets…
Me, too!Yes. I especially like to do good deeds that people aren’t aware of.
