lavender tree

so... yesterday was "in the neighborhood" of a Trader Joe's... not on route for normal errands... and i was hungry... but that's another story.

they had the first Meyer lemon's i've seen in a long time.

then i see these cute lavender Chritmas trees... similar to the rosemary trees but softer... VERY fragrant... seems to be a single plant, unlike the rosemary.

i have KILLED several of those irresistible rosemary trees before someone (several ones) gave me info that stopped that. the R tree is several plants, trimmed/shaped. found out it NEEDED to come out of original pot to give those roots room to stretch. bought last on around this time last year... repotted and put on my patio. it stayed out there all winter and is thriving. it was right up against my sliding door and sheltered by balcony above (apartment dweller). a NJ winter isn't usually that brutal... usually a few snows... no blizzards... usually a week/10 days of COLD stuff late-january-early frbruary... single digit temps with negative windchills.

so who has advice for me to have this cute, wonderfully "smelly" plant!
