I work part time and I've been off almost 3 weeks after Carpal Tunnel Syndrome surgery. The two weeks I had the office MD excuse I relaxed in that I knew I couldn't be called into work. Even for some mandatory meeting. But now my anxiety is going up again. I get my schedule but the scheduler will call me after it's out and ask me to switch days. I rarely say no because there is always someone younger, faster and better looking that can do my job.
My stepfather worked for the county. He doesn't get that I don't have the security he had and that my "seniority" and "experience" doesn't mean anything. Plus he's been drawing a pension for over 35 years, since age 55 when he was able to retire on partial disability due to his hearing loss.
I tried. I've worked hard like many. I bought a house. It was terrible. Still can't find a mobile in a park and still worried. I'm just venting here.
