Smash & Grab Robbery In Palm Beach Fla Nets 1 MILLION Dollars in Handbags

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/chicago-mayor-blames-retailers-not-135021610.html

this link is about the Mayor of Chicago blaming retailers for these robberies as they should by her logic have better security and guards

I would imagine the high end handbags are easy to unload ... perhaps they will all be sold on one of those many apps like RealReal or thred up and many others where people sell used designer clothes and accessories.
So she is denying gangs??????? She is as stupid as she looks.

Bigger problem - one store could have a million dollars worth of handbags. I think we've lost touch with reality.

Brings to mind the song "Reelin in the Years" by Steely Dan:
"Well, you wouldn't even know a diamond if you held it in your hand
The things you think are precious I can't understand"

I once went to a bridal shower in an atmosphere much too rarified for my thin, cheap blood. The main discussion was whether you could be satisfied with the $1000 Coach bag or if the $3500 Birkin bag was necessary for one's happiness. Those with the "cheaper" bags were working hard on trying to convince everyone that they were perfectly satisfied.

I just kept mah mouf shut. Nobody wanted to hear about my $19.95 handbag from Ross.

Or a song written by Berry Gordy Jr & William Robinson Jr. Recorded by the Beatles - "Money (that's what I want)"
The best things in life are free
But you can keep them for the birds and bees
Now give me money, (That's what I want)
That's what I want
(That's what I want)
That's what I want, (That's what I want), yeah
(That's what I want)
You're lovin' gives me a thrill
But you're lovin' don't pay my bills
Now give me money, (That's what I want)
That's what I want
(That's what I want)
That's what I want, (That's what I want), oh, yeah
(That's what I want)
Money don't get everything, it's true
What it don't get, I can't use
Now give me money, (That's what I want)

Well, if it makes them feel better about their shallow existence...

Or this less popular one.

Why @jujube, I would have sidled right up next to you and compared bargains! Don't think I've ever bought, owned or desired a handbag that cost more that $30.

The last thing I want is a label on my handbag. It has to serve a purpose and be good at it. Maybe I’ll take a poll here.

Younger (<45) women don’t seem to want to carry purses. Maybe the influencers do, not the average woman that I see.

I will admit that I spent $60 on a purse about 20 years ago. It was leather, classic and just the right size. I still use it a couple of times a month when I need a small shoulder bag. I'll probably be using it 20 years more. It'll hang nicely on my walker...LOL.
