Bit of a personal question .. were the ancestors from England, Ireland or Scotland? Many people from those places settled in the Eastern Provinces.

Long before I ever saw a computer, I heard the LDS church (the real one, not the cults) had been compiling genealogy records for a long time, not just members of their church but everybody. Awhile back I found their site familysearch.org, where you can find tons of records and other info and they don't charge anything.
My mother was Mormon and I was truly surprised when I found out about the extensive genealogy that has been captured by the LDS.

Oh, and I am English, Irish, Welsh. My ancestors migrated to Georgia/Florida in the early 1700s.

Genealogy ?

I was absorbed in genealogical research for several years, started searching micro film census records at an LDS family history library.
Made a lot of fascinating discoveries, pulling me in all different directions in my family tree. About 5 years ago my interest in genealogy became rekindled, and did a DNA test with FamilyTreeDNA. Pretty much complimented my records research, mostly Swiss-German, German, Welsh, Irish and....surprisingly...4% from Northern Africa.

Yes, there is a center you can go to in Mesa, AZ where I used to live.

Have been doing a bit of searching for ancestors.
Maternal side search gone as far as Ireland , where my cousins meant with the era where church records were destroyed.

Any other Irish searchers here?
2% Irish, 4% Norwegian, 94% British. They have changed it a couple of times because the base of tested people has grown.
My great grandfather, mom's side was from Scotland, (Edinburgh). Dad's was British.

Cri-Genetics did my DNA and MtDNA. I originated with the Eve mother and boy did my ancestors travel. They were all over the place, dropping seeds wherever they landed until finally, in later days, wound up in Norway and Finland. From there it was onto the German Empire, the Roman Empire and finally hit the Celtic states. I guess I am 100% Mutt. But, so are most Americans and I spent money to find this out? Told you I was nuts.

If a forum member believed you might be related, even if distantly, would you want the person to approach you and provide information?
Sure, why not?

Speaking of which:

Same here, almost exactly. We might be related, however it appears @C'est Moi is no longer active.
