Prepared Food Delivery & Tip Baiting-Dangerous Practice.

Apparently a relatively new trend with delivered meals. Many customers are 'baiting' drivers with higher tips for a faster delivery with many drivers only to get a normal tip.

At first I was thinking about the pizza chain years ago that started guaranteeing delivery times with a lot of drivers winding up in or causing accidents. But with tip baiting not only is there the chance of accidents the drivers are being lied to.

I hope these drivers make it known at least with in their own store or company who the higher tip customer/liars are.

Can't comment on this as I have never ever ordered a delivered meal but then that is just me; always blowing against the wind.

I’ve only ordered twice from Skip. I tipped cash when they arrived.

I never mention anything about a tip when I'm getting a take-away delivery. I always tip up to the nearest whole number... but it would never enter my head to mention it when I make the order...

We had a local TV/ Radio reporter order delivery from a restaurant with in 3 blocks of his home ... posted the results on his facebook page

he could track driver on an app ... driver picked up a few orders.... reporter thought i am so close they will deliver here .. nope went 15 minutes away and 15 minutes back plus two stops ........ended with 42 minutes to get now cold soup.

i could see that some people want to make sure they get theirs first or faster.
Money talks ..always has.
it happens in restaurants dining in ...
Many servers may look at table and think they can spot good tips from bad ones and guess who gets better service. That is why tables of young people get slow service sometimes assuming they can not afford a good tip.

Let's see if I got his right. Customer A promises a big tip if the delivery person screws over the other previous customers, and delivers A's din dins first, but then the delivery person is horrified, when A reneges on the tip? Aww, the poor thing. Maybe if the delivery person had an ounce of integrity, he wouldn't be in the position of getting stiffed, as he stiffed his other customers..

This is just another reason why I hate the practice of tipping.
