That's not right. If you want a soup thick, that's fine! I don't think a soup can be ruined....I tried making soup until I was asked to stop…too thick..too something.
Me too, unless I'm using soup bones.I prefer the dehydrated mixes because it’s easier to store.
Chicken soup sounds good, too! Have some for me won't you?@Ruthanne, I love French onion soup ! I made homemade chicken soup earlier; it was yummy.
Panera (Bread) Restaurant...makes French Onion soup that looked exactly like picture and is d-e-e-licious...Mmmm....soup! I love the french onion soup the restaurant makes the best. I haven't made any soup in ages!

I make onion soup and freeze it in single portions, I let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator add the bread and cheese pop it in a hot oven for a half hour. After I made onion soup the 1st time, my wife wont make it anymore.....
Normally we make soup by the gallons and can it.
It’s an old thread that I bumped because I’m too lazy to start a new thread.A national day in America, I presume. But even a Canadian like me was able to get behind it.
A funny thing, though... When I first woke up and decided to check What's New here on SF, I noticed this thread and, in my bleary-eyed state, misread the subject line as "National Homemade Soap Day". I thought wow, now that's surprising — these folks are getting down to real old-fashioned basics!!![]()
