I got a few spots on my arms and they look like bruises or cuts-but not cuts. Someone told me those are age spots. Do you have to be concerned about them? Can they get to be worse?
Things old people get, not me.What are age spots?
Exactly, I looked it up and that is what I found. So, nothing to worry about.Age spots are caused by overactive pigment cells. Ultraviolet (UV) light speeds up the production of melanin, and on skin that's had years of sun exposure, your melanin becomes clumped or is produced in higher concentrations.
Glad you got them taken care off. Signs of those things are if the spots become oddly shaped and if they become black in color.I went to a dermatologist, as I'm in the sun a lot, she said the age spots were nothing to worry about. However, she did freeze off a few other spots that were precancerous, that I had not even noticed. Yikes![]()
Hey….you spoiled my theory…..I always thought they were freckles getting older.Age spots are caused by overactive pigment cells. Ok, so we can go with that. Just freckles....getting old and flabby....clinging to each other....all pooped out.Hey….you spoiled my theory…..I always thought they were freckles getting older.
I have lots of freckles, but as I can tell, they’re not aging…..lucky me.![]()
Do you have to do that several times a day?The skin on my hands and arms is very thin, and I often get dark marks....usually after bumping into something. I found a formula consisting of 1/3rd apple cider, 1/3rd olive oil, and 1/3rd water that seems to help. I keep a couple of small plastic jars of this mix, and some Q-tips in the bathroom, and workshop. When I spot a mark, I shake up the bottle to mix the ingredients, then smear the spot with a Q-tip, and within a day or two, the mark or bruise is gone.
Yes....about 3 times/day....morning, noon and night. It seems to work good for me, and only costs a few pennies.Do you have to do that several times a day?
Thanks. I’ll definitely give it a try. Every time I scrape or bump myself I end up with a mark that lasts.Yes....about 3 times/day....morning, noon and night. It seems to work good for me, and only costs a few pennies.
