Do you have any Brand Loyalties when it comes to products you buy? And are there other items that you don't mind a generic?

For example, I prefer Colgate toothpaste and I also like Coca Cola better than I enjoy Pepsi.
Just personal preference. But laundry detergent, I buy whatever's cheap. I scrimp there.
How about you? Are there certain things you buy that just have to be a name brand?

I don't have any preference most of the time. I also buy what's on sale or discounted. But if it's a good name brand on sale, I would prefer that. I do like Tide detergent when it's on sale.

Coca Cola, Tide, Dawn Dish Soap and Jif Peanut butter are a must, well as long as I can afford. There was a day I couldn’t.

I would say yes... in the same way you described. Although I tend to gravitate towards what works for me and not try new things. I don't buy multiple products of the same type just to compare them. The exception being for things that cost an arm and a leg.
