Getting tired of food

Funny hearing that. I talked to an old asian lady and she used to wonder how we survive on bread with everything and no rice.
White rice! Good grief! My son & I stopped in to get some Chinese at a place in Miami, during our recent trip there on a family emergency.
We were jet-lagged, hadn't eaten in 36 hours and just in a daze...my son ordered up a bunch of yummy items so we ate like hogs KINGS.
One of the side orders was white rice...a LOT of white rice, by volume I would say at least 12 cups. I ate a tablespoon full, my son had a portion, and the rest got left in the hotel room fridge.

The new thing, I think, is now to take your protein drink and any nutrients in the morning, and instead of eating
lunch and dinner, to combine them in mid-afternoon into one meal.
When you think about it, it's a good idea. There is less bulk in your body,
you make sure you get all your vitamins and nutrients,
less stress about "What am I going to fix?", less cooking and clean-up,
giving more care and thought to your "one meal". and a healthier feeling.

Hmmm, I'm envisioning a glass with some ice and equal parts of vodka and V8 juice...sounds nutritious!

After 50+ years of planning dinners, making lunches and cooking breakfast, I'm getting so burned out that sometimes even thinking about food makes me not want to eat at all. I don't even know what to cook anymore that doesn't seem like the same thing we ate yesterday. Bored with food, bored with trying to think of something different to eat, bored with cooking...period. 1st world problem, I know. I should feel lucky I have food to eat when many don't. But I'm SO SICK OF CHICKEN!!!!
Sorry for the rant.
I've had no appetite for almost a year. Started within a couple weeks after I got my first covid vaccination, so I thought it might have to do with that, and that it would be temporary. But it wasn't. So then I wondered if it had to do with age. After going through the comments, maybe that's it.

I've lost over 20 pounds in the past year. I'd have probly lost a lot more if my wife didn't cook (although I do a lot of the cooking bc she has work and school) and/or makes sure I eat at least once a day. I was a single dad until my kids were well into adulthood, but I don't think I'm just tired of cooking. It's more like I'm not motivated to cook because I hardly ever feel hungry.

I had a very hearty appetite until a year ago, and even though I've always been within the average weight-range for my height, I was always a bit on the stocky side. Now I'm on the skinny of the average range.

Caroln, I tried one of those monthly/weekly meal delivery clubs. It was pretty good and didn't cost much more than grocery shopping. The problem was I live in a gated community and the gate closes at 5pm and the first delivery (a weeks worth of meals) arrived at 9pm. So I cancelled my membership.

Here's an example freshly.com

I have always enjoyed and helped with cooking when I could. I have always done the majority of cooking when camping.
Now that I'm retired, I do my best to have dinner ready for her when she gets home from work. Turn about is fair play.
Most days I ask her what she would like, but do pull surprises from time to time. The other day she was expecting left over Ziti...
She got home to Smoked pork, baked Potato and grilled Garlic spiced Green Beans...

I make it with canned turkey...its really good - better than with chicken.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen canned turkey. Maybe canned chicken in the tuna section.

I bought a frozen turkey for Christmas and never used it. Company is coming is a couple of weeks so will try your recipe after cooking the turkey.

Ive never had an appetite for food .
