Got another surgery lined up for myself...

I feel like I need to vent a bit. Went to see a hand specialist today, recommended by my son, a fellow doctor, so I have complete confident in his practice. I have had irritation, aches and pains also constantly for the past week and was advised to have the plate and screws from when I broke my wrist about 20 years ago removed. It's a minor surgery with a 4 week recovery time to allow the holes where the screws used to be to be filled up. Can't say I'm thrilled about having another surgery less than a month after going through a major one.
Thank you for reading.

At least you know you’re getting a recommendation from a trusted source. Good luck with this. Is it your dominant hand?
Thank you. Fortunately, no. There are some things I do better with the left hand though.
Seems the longer we live, more surgeries that are inevitable. I wish you the best of luck. I know how you feel though, no one wants surgery.
Yes, that seems to be the case. I'm bummed out a bit because I already have something I'm still dealing with. Thank you.

Oh gosh, RFW, sorry to hear this. 20 Years?

I had the same surgery done on my broken right wrist maybe 8 years ago. Recovery was no fun, so I feel for you having the reverse.

Hoping for an easier recovery for you. 🌹

Yes. Back when I could still do a handstand, I think. :p Did it heal okay for you?

I hope the surgery goes well and relieves your pain and irritation, well worth it if the plate and screws are causing your problem. So nice that you have a son who can give such good medical advice to you. Nothing to look forward to, but if it improves your everyday life, it is the thing to do. Good luck.

Oh Ralph!
Sometimes the expectancy of the approaching operation is worse than what will happen!
You have strengths inside that you haven't even tested yet!
I think you will sail through this! All your Angels will be with you, guiding the physician's hand!
I have a good feeling that you will be fine! Don't be afraid of anything!

Having a doctor in the family is a blessing when I don't know where to start and a curse when we talk about my health. :ROFLMAO: I mean, I love him but there are a lot of dos and don'ts he wants me to follow too.

Wow, a handstand! Not me... but mine healed ok. My hand specialist was great. Doesn't bother me. It was the first 2 months, you know, the pain, the inconvenience, the PT...ugh.

Thank goodness my grandson was still living here, a teen and old enough to take care of some things. I hope you have someone to assist you.

Whether it will turn out that way or not, it's what I wanted to hear! It's been one thing after another even since I got out of the hospital. It's going to take me longer than I thought to finish your movie. I started the first part the other day and almost finished it when the phone rang. I haven't resumed it since but it looked promising. Each part being as long as a feature film, I hope there are a lot of interesting stories to tell in it.

Good to hear. Yes, the dreaded PT. I just can't wait.
I have a grandson nearby that can come help if I need him. Hope it won't be too bad because I don't like it when people take time off of me.

Hey Bionic Man, When IS your surgery?
Are you living with someone who can do things for you while you heal?
If we all know when you are having the surgery, we can send POWERFUL prayers!
Give no attention to these little vagaries of life! You can do this!

Bionic Man sounds pretty cool to me.

It's okay. I'm sure there are other people who need those prayers more than I do. Please don't take this the wrong way, that I look a gift horse in the mouth or something along that line. It's a simple procedure and I shouldn't be complaining about it. Just the thought is enough for me. Thank you for that!

Things really stack up sometimes. I know what you mean. You’ll get through this. But it’s hard…

It seems to me that it's the series of mishaps and multiple challenges, you have been having that is getting to you, which is very understandable.
You could use (and deserve) a total vacation from medical issues, but like the rest of us, you can't schedule one yet!:giggle::LOL:

Yes... the first time, my friend Kathy brought me. They took off that Velcro and plastic thing and told me to make the "OK" sign. You know, touch thumb with index finger?

I couldn't do it! Not even close. I was flabbergasted. Kathy burst out laughing!
My okay sign turned into a bird real quick.

Ever had a moment when a number of your home appliances keep breaking down back to back? Gives me the same frustration but now it's me that's breaking down. o_O
