Step on it..footwear-wise

Was just watching a TV show...a woman was chosen as best dressed...
she said what she paid for her outfit which included her shoes.

She said they cost $800/pr. (black slip-on with gold buckle and... chunky heel-1-1/2"h.?)

What do you think...about price?

What's the most you've very paid for a pair of shoes?

(You, too, guys!)

I'm a complete and utter Imelda Marcos... value version....:D...always had a passion for shoes.. and even more so today..shoes, boots, trainers... I have loads..

I never pay very much for them tho' I tend to buy my more expensive ones either in the Sales or real leather at a fraction of the price when I'm in Spain or Greece.., the most I've ever paid for a pair of footwear is less than £100 ..and many of the boots I've bought in the sales were originally 3 or 4 times that much but I won't pay it...much as I love shoes..

Never paid over $200, probably the most was for hiking boots. I paid over $100 in the early 70s for a pair of custom made White's Smokejumper boots. In today's money probably the most. They were just high end work boots, not worth the money.

Shortly after the fall of Ferdinand Marcos I visited their home, Malacañang Palace, and see Imelda's infamous shoe collection, something like 1,000 pairs. Not as impressive as I expected, many were gifts from Philippine shoe makers, kind of cheap...

Many ladies...my wife included....are "fashion" conscious when buying/wearing shoes. Me...I'm just concerned with Fit and comfort. My wife likes to shop at a Kohl's store, every couple of months, and while she is shopping, I go to their "clearance" section in the shoe department, and I can usually find a pair of shoes on sale for Half of their normally Inflated prices. About the only footwear that I pay any attention to is Work boots, since I'm outdoors a lot. Even with those, I've found that a $30 pair of Walmart boots, with a $6 pair of Dr. Schools "inserts" lasts just as long, and feels just a comfortable as boots costing much more.

The last pair I purchased at the Salvation Army for $5.99 plus tax.

The most I've paid was probably $150.00 back in the 70s.

Queen Elizabeth has been wearing this same style of handmade Anello & Davide shoes for the last half-century.

Rumor has it that Her Majesty keeps 10 pairs of the £1,000 handmade shoes in rotation. It's also said that Her Majesty sends them back to be reheeled and resoled as needed.

I wear mainly Naturalizer shoes, as they fit well, and have wide width to accommodate my bunion.
For sneaker days, I have a few pairs of Nikes. I've yet to break in a pair of Mizuno sneakers I bought last summer. They make golf equipment and golf shoes, if I recall correctly.

Her dresser who is the same size shoe as the Queen, actually wears them for her first, to iron out any problems they may have. That's the truth her dresser has confirmed this .

Uh, I have four pairs now: Sandals for Summer, Ugg boots for Winter, A tall pair of Frye boots and a pair of black heels.
I'm just not into shoes, clothes, and jewelry. They are extraneous, meaningless things to me.
Don't get me wrong. I'm very much a woman, but just not into STUFF!

I think the most I've ever paid for a pair of shoes is may be $60-70. And, they were high heels that I probably only wore once or twice.
Now, I don't pay over $45, and that was for a pair of Van's tennis shoes recently.

Horseless carriage, you must be a “sharp dressed man” as the song goes. I’m sure I have never spent over $200 for a pair of shoes. My feet have gotten worse as I have grown older. Bunions on both feet as well as a hammer toe which can be rather painful. I also have especially high arches which makes it difficult to even get on some styles like boots. My toes are so ugly and smashed together that I don’t wear sandals. Clarks or Easy Spirit fit me ok. I just ordered some Birkenstock shoes that look cute and comfortable but I typically just wear inexpensive sneaker type shoes most of the time.

My Boots and Trainers cupboards... I I have more boots and trainers in the spare room, and all my shoes and sandals are stored under the sleigh bed in boxes..

@hollydolly I am trying to work out if you have more ankle boots and trainers than I do - it's close. Interesting that you have just two pairs of knee length boots which is the same as me as I seldom wear longer boots.
