Sean Penn has threatened to melt down his Oscars unless the Ukrainian president is allowed to speak at the Academy Awards. He also wants all other actors and nominees to boycott the awards if the president isn't allowed to speak. Yep, like that's going to happen.

This puts me in mind of a two-year-old having a tantrum and threatening to hold his breath until he turns blue if he doesn't get his way. Or maybe, "I'll bite my thumb really, really hard until you give me what I want!!!"

I have no objection to the Ukrainian president speaking, but what does that have to do with the Academy Awards? And who the heck cares if Penn melts down his statues?

Thank God I can only read the closed captions when these Celebs give their speeches or maybe I should just turn them off when watching this stuff so all I can watch is the pretty gowns and stuff like that.

well, that is a little dramatic. But that guy has done an ENORMOUS amount of charity work. Really, I would forgive whatever wackiness he has done. In the early days of the pandemic, he brought his charity organization right to bear and helping out...very early, before just about anyone was doing anything.

I haven't watched the Academy Awards in decades. It is nothing more than a popularity contest. Whichever studio is able to promote their nominees more to the voters while also greasing their palms have a better shot at winning.

Zelenskyy was a comedian before becoming president, so maybe his former career fits with the Academy Awards or whatever.

It's amazing that Zelenskyy seems to have almost everybody and entity by the ..... and Zelenskyy doesn't take no for an answer.
