When a member posts a personal picture here,

I was speaking in the thread I started yesterday on avocados about how they make ones skin healthier and looking younger and that brought to my mind is there a thread that we can post photos of ourselves and then I came across this thread. So maybe someone knows if there is a such thread for this sort of thing?

You mean you want to post pictures of yourself Molly ?...

Go to the photo thread... https://www.seniorforums.com/forums/photography.29/ and scroll through there, to see if there's a thread already running that would suit you. I post mostly on ''Pics from my phone'' and ''photos from my neighbourhood''..but you can start your own thread in the photo section if you can't find what you want..

..or click on your own name at the top right of the page, then click again, and open Media or Albums and create your own albums or media content.

You do have to have been a member for a week before you can post any photos tho'...

Yes, just a photo so people on the forum can place a face with my posts. I may also do what you have done and just use a photo of myself as my profile photo. That might actually be easier.
 
It's always been my understanding that you can post photos in forums that aren't yours IF you aren't making money off of it or claiming it's yours.
IF you're selling the photos or printing them on T-shirts and selling them then you're in trouble.
 
Any graphic including images the public can view of the Internet on displays can easily be copied by screen capture tools. That is why I only ever post small downsized photos of my photography work. What people do with whatever is wide open that few will have legal resources to do anything about.

Even if someone posts a picture of a group, each photo is able to be used anywhere. I had my picture taken years ago while United was filming a commercial. This was back when airlines put commercials on TV. About two months later, I received a check from United for $50. When I asked why did I get the money, I was told that it was for my cameo shot on a United commercial.

I have been told that this rule has been changed, but don’t know how or to what. Maybe everyone in a commercial needs a manager now. Just joking.
