Government Website with Resources to Reference Recalls

Consumer Products, Motor Vehicles, Boats, Food, Medicine, Cosmetics, Environmental Products

To provide better service in alerting the American people to unsafe, hazardous or defective products, six federal agencies with vastly different jurisdictions have joined together to create www.recalls.gov -- a "one stop shop" for U.S. Government recalls.

Follow the tabs above to obtain the latest recall information, to report a dangerous product, or to learn important safety tips.

This is a great thread. I think people don't generally keep up with this kind of thing unless the recall is blasted on the news. There are many recalls we don't wind up hearing about so it's good to check the above website periodically. I saw on the news that Skippy peanut butter was recently recalled due to the possibility that shards of metal are in some batches.

Thanks. You know, I think some of the recall pages have an email alert. So, you can sign up for that and you get daily emails with recall information.

One of the reasons I posted this was that I did, in fact, get very sick from one of these alerts that I never saw.

Thanks for this posting.....

Here's one that I found after buying an expensive can of this sun screen...

Yes, that government website has an area related to cosmetics.

It is a big issue.

Now, doctors prescribe medication delivered by "patch." And that, of course, means that applying something topically, can be absorbed into your blood stream.

And that also means that whatever cosmetics you use on your skin...those substances, will also be absorbed into your blood stream.

If they are strong chemicals...that can be a problem.

An special area of concern is underarms and underarm deodorant. There are important lymph nodes just under the arms. If you daily use a strong chemical on that area, the lymph nodes are going to be in very close contact to a constant source of problem.

If there is one area that you really should use a natural product on, it is underarm deodorants.
