Microchip implants, will you be getting one?

Not for me! I always say that when a baby is born they should tattoo a barcode on the forehead. That barcode should cover all the plastic one has to carry , contain the social security number and any other numbers or plastic that is dreamed up in the future.

From an EU fact checking site in 2020.

To sum up, we can examine that statement -thousands of Swedish have microchips inserted under their skin- is true. By this year there are about 6000 Swedish who have been chipped. Nevertheless, it is not a new trend and reached its peak in years 2014-2016.

Doesn’t seem like it’s going to catch on.

No. But it's not that I' m "agin" it. The technology is too new, but having identity chips implanted may not be all that far in the future. I don't want to get stuck with the wrong implant. In a few years, they may settle on one type of implant. Also, how do you know if you walk by the checkout, you don't wind up paying for someone else's stuff.

Microchip implant? No way. If I had my druthers I'd go back to the days when life was simple. Privacy was protected.

There is no way I would want a microchip implant. Crazy people try to steal your credit card now they will cut off your hand!
You are right Sassycakes. Ever time there is some sort of new development or trend, there are crooks out there meeting the challenge of how to "beat the system." I hope it doesn't come to crazies running around with hidden axes but, hey, I'm sure not going to give them a chance. I read that you can get chips implanted in dogs but in people? Really? I thought the smartphones were being used to track your every movement; now chips implanted in your body? I'm afraid that in some ways the world is regressing in common sense. Too many people; I think!
