Burning natural gas generates high levels of nitrogen oxides, linked to asthma in children

Over the years, I’ve had several gas stoves and wouldn’t thank you for one. Even using the fan, the build up of residue on the walls and on top of the upper cupboards was disgusting after 6 months. With an electric flat top, there’s very little build up.

If I have to replace my stove, it’ll be an induction stove.

I love natural gas for heating and for my stove, but I often leave
windows open. There is a lot of air circulation in my home. Irrelevant, as
I love cooking with gas and find natural gas to be a clean burning fuel.

The Only way a gas stove should be used is with the exhaust fan turned on. Otherwise, the fumes have nowhere to go but throughout the house. Plus, every year there are some houses that burn down, or explode, due to a burner left on, or a leak in the gas lines.

Total electric for us! I keep a small Coleman propane camping stove in the basement, in case we have an electric outage, and need to heat a pan of water to wash our face, etc., but that's as close as I want to get to gas.

I saw something about this a couple of years ago. Just think of all these decades that our mothers and we used gas stoves without giving it a second thought. I stopped using my stove in favor of the NuWave cooktops a few years ago but not because of the pollution issue.
