Near me///Devils Rock

Devil's Rock is located along Route 5 near the top of Temperance Hill, next to a New York State Department of Transportation building about 2.5 miles east of Batavia, New York. The rock derives its name from a legend that the Devil was once chained to it and ran around trying to get unchained

Hope you are having a very nice day! If I recall my history, Billy the Kid was actually a very noble person, who got caught in very difficult circumstances and only fell into crime through very tragic circumstances.
Thanks. Not sure if he was noble or a homicidal maniac. Not my place to judge.

I think that is the name of a punk rock band..."Noble Homicidal Maniac"

I really don't know the history of Billy the Kid much at all. But I do like the history of the West. Have watched a bunch of history shows about it.

Back in 1980 I hitchhiked across the country. I went halfway with a friend of mine. We split up. He wound up on a cattle ranch in Montana, right on the Continental Divide. Had an amazing time.

I wound up doing some hiking in Glacier Park in Montana...love Montana.

The West is great country, great people...

when I travelled through the West I had such pride in being an American.... miss those days, now that I am here in crazy New Jersey

I grew up in Southern Ohio, and Point Pleasant WV is right across the river. Back in the 60s (maybe the 70s) people reported seeing a strange creature that was dubbed the Mothman. There is now a "Museum" in Point Pleasant and at least one statue. One of my cousins (deceased) claimed to have seen the creature.

Formerly VA, PP some historians argue was the location of the 1st battle of the American Revolution in 1774.

In my area, we have the legend of Rehmeyer’s Hollow. For the last at least 70 years, teenagers and other young people have gathered in the area of the Rehmeyer’s house during Halloween and waited sometimes all night to see the ghost appear. Yes, I was along with some others on just one Halloween night, but nothing appeared. Of course, a few girls screamed and claimed that they saw a ghost. One guy brought a shotgun along and when asked what he was planning on doing with the gun, he told them if he he saw a ghost, he would kill it.
Obviously, the guy wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
