Guy at the car wash today. OMG!

We frequently visit a car wash where you drive your car through and then pull it into a stall where they dry it off. We were in a stall next to a guy in a older Audi Q7. It happened to be a windy day so the spray from the car wash was blowing back onto the cars. He started screaming at the top of his lungs, using the F Bomb every other word and yelling at the staff that he was driving a $150k Audi (not even close) and they needed to do something about the spray. I felt so sorry for these poor people at the car wash. A manager ended up closing the shutter in front of his car and he even followed him out of the car wash, drying down his car.

He could have simply asked them to pull the shutter but he chose to make a scene, yell profanity and brag about the price of his car, which wasn't even true. What is wrong with people these days?

LOl - reminded me of this scene from "The Rock" Sean Connery escapes & steals someone's Humvee while the car's owner is handing it to a parking attendant & he says, "This is my Humvee. I don't want any dents, dings, scratches. Or I'll have your ass."

Only a wannabe would yak like that. If his ride was all that he wished it was he'd be at an Audi dealership handing his keys to the supervising mechanic for a free 45 minute customer loyalty detail and go inside the customer bistro spoon out some caviar then wash it down with some Moen.

I don't know if it's a Side Effect of the strain some people are experiencing since Covid hit, but something seems to be affecting a lot of people in the past year. It seems that anymore it's not unusual to see someone having a Tantrum over every little annoyance.
i notice this also. i notice that ive changed in ways i cant really type or express. life just feels differently now.
not sure if its my grief settling down or covid or society or age or all of that in one big loop.

this is small town rural here and people all seem to be kind and decent to one another from what i see.
the local grocery--like a meet market, lol---is fun and we smile and chat.
as for business and getting things done, well thats a diff story. its all pretty half assed and very under-served.

i think for some reason individual narcissism is now in front and center of daily life, which comes from most
humans now able to type their thots and intentions like im doing now. type it and send it round the world
giving me the impression that i have importance of some kind..because i can type my thots and Know others
will read them.
publishing a book was once a hard task to take on. now, today...hell anyone can be a writer now.
it doesnt take any talent. it doesnt even take a publisher or agent. type something bizarre and you get published!

i just find it all highly weird. that my fingers can send my stupid thots around the world.
its enough to make me feel more important than prolly i should. like elons 44bil.

i truly think humans are beginning to react to environmental stresses. of changing weather. some admit to
being stressed out by shortages and fear of more. i think people living easily distractable lives, tv social medias etc,
dont realize why the public may be starting to exhibit totally raunchy behaviors. environmental stress is everywhere
its just not spoken of much on the big tv media social net.

half the country floods half the country is a burning dust bowl. this must stress people out.

Not enough parental discipline! It is the cause of a lot of problems in society. Children are treated with kid gloves, instead of being given the guidance they need. They grow up into adults who just cannot cope with the realities of life.

I am going to guess he is from New Jersey. Just a guess. :):):)

On behalf of New Jersey, I apologize...

Well, on a serious note, I will say this. I have seen some very horrible, highly stressed behavior since the pandemic began.

I got my first booster shot at a station, set up in a huge warehouse, by FEMA and the National Guard. By the way, those FEMA people and the National Guard soldiers...were all first class and I deeply thank them for their service. They made us all feel safe, in a very uncertain time.

Anyway, I got my booster (took a good hour). As I am leaving, this guy is laying into his horn...HARD. And it was at the car in front of him, which was clearly being driven by an older woman, probably in her 70s or 80s. And this guy is just SCREAMING his head off!!

I hung around, until the lady cleared the area. The guy looks at me, for some kind of nod of support...for screaming at this lady.
I mean, it was not normal screaming or even normal road rage...it was something WAY beyond that.

So, I went up the FEMA guys and told them what happened. You know, is this some deranged lunatic who is about to ram his car into the building and blow it up??? The FEMA guys took me very seriously and went off to see what they could do.

Having done my duty, I just picked up and left as soon as I could. No news report, so I assume the loon just left.

But, I have seen this same thing a few times since the pandemic began. Maybe they will come up with a name for it.

But something like screaming cabin fever panic?? something.

It was insane. I mean, I have driven around New Jersey and NYC since the 70s. I have seen a lot of yelling. But this was a different level entirely. Maybe this will sound like an exaggeration. But it was more like this guy was on death row...and his time was up and the jailers came for him in his cell...and knowing he was about to die, he started screaming like a madman. It was something like that.

And maybe you experienced something similar? Some kind of stress based spell of rage from the pandemic?

I grew up around angry screaming, my dad and sister were both rageaholics. I agree that people seem to be even more full of rage since Covid hit but kinda feels like more of the same old, same old to me.
