Amid Bay Area housing crisis, tiny bunk bed 'pods' offered for $800 a month!

I had seen a report about this somewhere before. $800 is a ridiculous amount to be charging for those "accommodations" but I guess people living in Cali have come to grips with overpriced housing and this winds up being a much cheaper option. Plus add they don't have to plunk down a security deposit which is often 1.5 to 2 X the rental costs plus the first month's rent which comes to a minimum of $6,000 to move into the average studio in that area. Those who choose these pods are saving money out the gate. The article says residents are in their 20s and 30s, what I'd expect.

Guess why I don't live on the Left Coast any more.........My mortgage here AND my car payment together wasn't $800

I couldn’t read the article but got a quick look at the bunks. If someone lived far away and had to commute long hours daily to get to work, I’d consider this setup to have a place to hang my hat from Monday to Thursday night.
