Do You Wash Your Frying Pan?

I wash my cast iron pans and dry them over an open flame on the stove.
 
I spray my frying pan first with degreaser, wipe with a paper towel, then wash it with dish detergent and the hottest water I can. Sometimes I'll put the small one in my countertop dishwasher, but always spray and prewash it first. I use non-stick spray to avoid having food stick to the pan.
 
As far as I know the 5 second rule doesn't apply to frying pans. Washing them in warm soapy water is routine for us. When it comes to cast iron, same warm soapy water then dry completely & season lightly with canola oil. <--- eliminates rust by seasoning again.
 
I love my Lodge pan. I have the flat pan without the sides. I don't usually wash it, just wipe it out. If I do wash it, I put oil on it right away. These come pre-seasoned.
 
This is one entertaining and enthusiastic man when it comes to cast iron.

Yes, all except the cast iron frying pans. They get scrubbed with a brush (not metal) and washed in hot water, then dried and put away.
 
If cast iron frying pans are washed in soap and water they will rust. I found that out the hard way.
 
We wash our frying pans I thought it was ok to wash a cast iron pan as long as you applied new cooking oil on it and then maybe heated it up again on the stove again to let the oil set in.
 
I don 't use the black cast iron pan anymore. I use an enameled cast iron pan now.

I used to wash the old one like anything else, but dry and heat on the stove to make sure it's totally dry. Never rusted.

ive used the same cast iron skillets for...geez...over 40years. lolol.

sometimes i soapy clean them, mostly i water wash them.
soapy hasnt bothered mine at all. i dont let them sit in water or soapy water.
