To me it is sad that this even needs to be an exceptional story these days, but I agree that it is truly touching. There is hope in this world.

Although we have discussed bad cops on this forum, there are good cops too. I started a thread about it...but of course it didn't get as many responses as the one about the bad ones. 
It is very heartwarming to see officers who truly care. Maybe we need to see more of this kind of news to balance out the terrible things we are exposed to daily.
In fact, one thing I love about watching World News Tonight is they end each broadcast with a heartwarming story about every day heroes, some children, some military, etc. and other feel good stories. God bless Officer Doty for his kindness (he may wind up in a WNT segment) and may Mr. Wilkerson R.I.P.
