Got any inflation-fighting tips?

I keep my disposable razors in a small cup with a bit of mineral oil in it. Keeps the blade clean and totally reusable for weeks.

Half the amount of laundry detergent that's recommended on the label is quite adequate. Or use one-third less if your uncomfortable with using only half.

Add some cheap white vinegar to glass and all-purpose cleaners when about a third of the bottle is used. You won't have to buy it as often.

I'm blowing my nose into handkerchiefs instead of tissues. Cuts down on waste, so it's better for the environment, too.

White vinegar and baking soda both can be used/replaced by many commercal cleaning products.

Newspaper is good for cleaning windows, mirrors, glass surfaces. Does not leave streaks, works better than a paper towel. I don't take a newspaper, I just save the grocery papers that come in the mail.

Turn off lights, fans if you are not in the room. Keep the thermosat set at a reasonable temperature. You can save a lot of money by adjusting just a few degrees hotter/cooler. Don't waste water. Don't just let it run while brushing your teeth, while rinsing dishes, feel the sink, get everything ready for the dish washer at one time. Take a navy shower.

Bemindful of your food budget. Plan the menu around what is on sale. Shop your own pantry for items needed to round out the meals you plan. Cook at home.

I absolutely refuse to buy cheap one-ply bathroom tissue.
It's Charmin Ultra Soft Triple Ply.
Or nothing.
In fact, last year, my car needed brakes & tires. I had a choice - Charmin or drive without brakes on bald tires.
I got the Charmin.

Just out of curiosity, what temperature do you consider reasonable in your home? For myself it often varies.

I try to keep the AC at 78 but lower it to 75 when I sleep, I sleep better a little cooler. Now if I am having hot flashes with a migraine I will turn it down in the day.

In the winter, the heater is at 62. I like cold weather. I will wear warm clothes in the house. I also like to have a cozy throw on the couch.

I never use the full amount it calls for. I found that too much soap leaves a residue. My husband was sensitive to it. When I would start the laundry he would always say "Don't chap my ass". I always would double rinse his underwear. LOL

CUT THE FAT: Sell your RV trailer, your boat, your 4X4 crewcab truck, your ATV & your pontoon boat. By the way, cook at home and stop running around to all those restaurants, stop ordering pizza for home deliveries and stop shopping for "stuff" that will only end up in landfills anyway. As I said, CUT THE FAT!

Organize anything that requires driving to being done in the same trip.

Recently I took a bus downtown. The cost of the return ticket was less than parking fees and I wasn’t thinking about racing back to plug the meter every two hours.

I found a cheaper 2-ply that's a very good temporary substitute....Angel Soft.

I knew a guy in Canada about 15yrs ago who I used to send Charmin too. He'd go online to announce to the world "Got my Charmin today!!"
