Do You Still Wear Jeans?

Got a pair on now, Levi's 501 shrink to fit with buttons.

More or less unchanged since I was a kid, same jeans pretty much exactly. I follow some of Levi's laundering advice. Wear them wet after first wash letting them dry on me. Really makes the fit good. Then I rarely wash, Levi's recommends:

"Wash them once every 10 wears at most to maintain fit and prevent too much "rebound." Or go even longer and wear them until they smell a little funky. Use a damp cloth or old toothbrush with mild soap to remove small stains instead of washing them."

I do wash more often than every 10 years, LOL.

Jeans are my formal dress, shorts or sweat pants are more common.

I gave away dress clothes to include high digit 3 pc. suits a'ways back...still have a few pairs of some high $$$ dress shoes that never will go out of style, but one of these days I'll give 'em away. I have several pairs of cowboy boots, some dating back to the late 70's that have been resoled and reheeled a couple times over the years that are still in pristine condition on the uppers.

Speaking of Levi's, there are two pair of Levi Strauss Suede Cowboy Boots in that boot mix. They have orange Levi Tags on the outside seam, a tad below the pull ring on the right boot just like the one's on your regular jeans right side back butt pocket.

A couple months ago I was digging through a closet and found 3 pairs of perfect Calvin Klein Jeans, circa: Mid -80's, oddly enough they still fit. I am 6', 180 lbs--- just about the same weight as I was back then. Things have shifted around some though as my muscle mass has changed, yet my weight has stayed the same????

A man after my own heart. I bought Hugo Boss suits and sport coats when I was working because there was a certain "image" required within my industry. Also, I am slim and they fit nicely. There was nothing that felt better at the time than attending a conference in a new suit, shirt and fancy tie. Now I live in jeans and vests during the winter and gym clothes all-year-round. I've saved an amazing amount on clothing since I retired.

I have a couple of pairs of Monk Strap dress shoes from my business days and will wear them to any fancy event. They never go out of style.

Wow, 80's Calvin Klein jeans!? I'm in the process of donating everything I haven't worn in the past year!

I have found lots of stuff I forgot I owned. Still have some boxes to go thru that were packed up and sealed many years ago.

I am slowly getting rid of things I have been carting around for ages. Like those Calvin Klein's there are probably more items such as one might find in a Time Capsule!

I have more stuff to shed before I move up to Idaho with my middle son, his retired L.A. Country Sheriff wife and my two grandsons.

@UncleVinny , So Cal to Idaho....that will be a big change in weather, won't it? Why are you moving if you don't mind my asking?
 
I have always worn jeans big and baggy pants with suspenders on the comfortable kind. Big heavy work boots that have big cleats on them. A checkered cotton shirt that is big and baggy also. Sometime I wear boonie hats but mostly baseball hats with military emblems on them. A jean jacket that I wear when it is cold outside it is baggy also. Big leather belt with a big buckle on it that I can use as a whip if someone attacks me.

My first pair of jeans were yellow Ladybird ones. They were comfortable to wear but not long enough. I'm tall and have long legs. They didn't cater for tall girls back then.

Backache by wearing jeans and that is new to me. However everyday I learn something new.

Now days I buy the cheap men's Wanglers at Walmart , about $13.
Men's jeans seem to be heavier material than ladies.
Toss them in tub of hot water & bleach, seems to make them bit softer.

One pair of my work jeans has hole at knee,, works well for cooling.
The other work pair are patched at the knee.

I have ladies jeans in different colors for 'dress'.

Jeans & bleach do they match each other. What happens to the textile when you soak them in bleach? Does the colour not fade? After a bleach bath are you wearing jeans or hot pants made from jeans?😂

Leann, I have been living in these mountains right at 40 years and there have been a lot of times that the ONE paved road up and down the mountain is closed for many days due to fires and rock slides. That is why God created back, unmaintained dirt roads and Edison power line roads along with the necessary off road able vehicles to get ya up and down the mountain as needed.

I am no stranger to elevation, snow, slick roads and wild critters. Not to mention the fires I have been thru over those 40 years.

I was transferred to So. Cal as a wee-nippy in 1957 from South Philadelphia. Now that, THAT was a big change.

I realize a move such as this is not for everyone, but...Northern Idaho will suit me fine. And I am very anxious to get out of this gOoFy forked up as a soup sammich Lefty Nightmare called California. Pretty soon I imagine taxes will be taxed to pay for all the brilliant "progressive" ideas to come as more and more productive, tax paying people and businesses flee the state.

And speaking of leaving CA:


That is about a year and a half old video. Gotten worse in that area since, and there is really no place in So. Cal without "homeless camps" very evident now. Our Slicky Boy Governor is welcoming people to CA from across the country to set up their Tents and Hogan's, then to cop a squat on the sidewalks. They get some $$$ and other perks to come on in.

Northern CA has to be same issue, just not as big...yet.

Those young girls are a couple of nasty punks who aren't being raised right. I don't like the super ripped look either. On anyone including young with a great figure.

I just about exclusively wear jeans. I did buy a pair on clearance with a couple of rips, one in the knee. I'm going to put some fabric behind the openings.

I think it’s the very worst invention ever. The jeans lose their shape and fit after one wearing.

The few jeans that are 100% cotton are strange designs with super high waists and huge legs.

There aren’t many men’s brands that add that stretch. I haven’t heard any good reviews from men who have tried them.
