Do You Still Wear Jeans?

Whoever came up with the idea to put stretch in jeans deserves a reward. Best invention since sliced bread.
i agree. that bit of stretch sure helped getting older.

You're welcome (y)

I refer to the ripped ones as "rag picker jeans".

I have a pair of white jeans and a pair of black ones hanging in the closet for some years now.

I wear cargo pants in the cooler months and cargo shorts during the warm months. I like the extra pockets.

Some think they are only for the young. I watched two young girls snickering and pointing at a lady today wearing jeans, she had to be over 70, but she was sporting the ripped jean look with the rips in obvious places meant to show skin, lots of skin.

They were not laughing at me and I was wearing jeans and a tee. Or maybe they were behind my back. Do the young think they have a monopoly on fashion?

Nothing a comfy as a well worn pair of jeans for me.
If you like your jeans then wear them, no matter how old, or even, how young, you are, go for it, or should that be, them? Not one to criticise, but for me, denim always strikes me as workwear. By that I mean clothing for the masses who can hardly afford little else.

Whilst a pair of jeans, slim fitting or baggy, with or without a turned up cuff, would never be seen in my wardrobe, I would never remark on those that love their denim. It's just that trousers always catch the eye, especially wide trousers.

at anything up to £1000 a pair, I don't think you could call jeans, workwear :ROFLMAO:

Leann, I have been living in these mountains right at 40 years and there have been a lot of times that the ONE paved road up and down the mountain is closed for many days due to fires and rock slides. That is why God created back, unmaintained dirt roads and Edison power line roads along with the necessary off road able vehicles to get ya up and down the mountain as needed.

I am no stranger to elevation, snow, slick roads and wild critters. Not to mention the fires I have been thru over those 40 years.

I was transferred to So. Cal as a wee-nippy in 1957 from South Philadelphia. Now that, THAT was a big change.

I realize a move such as this is not for everyone, but...Northern Idaho will suit me fine. And I am very anxious to get out of this gOoFy forked up as a soup sammich Lefty Nightmare called California. Pretty soon I imagine taxes will be taxed to pay for all the brilliant "progressive" ideas to come as more and more productive, tax paying people and businesses flee the state.

U.V.
AMEN. We left California (Northern) for Southern Idaho last year and sooo glad we did. Miss the kids and grands a lot but they are all starting to spread out as well. Weather here isn`t hugely different than where we lived in NorCal. You WILL see a big difference in Northern Idaho though.

Yes, have worn jeans for decades now. Wrangler right now, have a few pairs of different ones that I have had for a few years now. Different pairs as I put on a few pounds or lose a few pounds during different seasons.
I was offered 80 dollars back in the 80s, my working jeans had both knees ripped out, one patched up. I had just installed two water systems crawling under houses will do that..lol I kept the jeans...
The new stuff is not up to snuff where I think they should be. These new ones don't seem to last as long...

I think it’s the very worst invention ever. The jeans lose their shape and fit after one wearing.

The few jeans that are 100% cotton are strange designs with super high waists and huge legs.

There aren’t many men’s brands that add that stretch. I haven’t heard any good reviews from men who have tried them.
I can't stand the jeans with wide legs. Which kind of fabrication do you think are best? Just wondering.

I like NYDJ, in a petite, boyfriend style, no stretch material. I finally had to accept that my last pair were a rag. They were so perfectly broken in.

I found one brand at the Bay (similar to Macy’s) except I still need a different size that they never have in the style I like.

I’ve spent a fortune trying different jeans that end up being donated.

I still wear jeans , no rips, but do have to resort to elastic waist.
Around the house and sometimes when oot and aboot , leggings and long shirts.
I do have 'dressy ' pants and tops if the need ever arises .
Must admit I don't own a dress or a skirt either:unsure:

Don't the NYDJ jeans have some stretch in them? When I said I like stretch jeans I didn't mean those that are like knit material though I have a pair of shorts like that. I meant regular denim but with some stretch. I've looked at the NYDJ jeans in the past but have never bought any.

The pair I just tossed had barely any stretch fabric; they were really, really old. I don’t want ANY stretch fabric, I will tolerate a token amount because that’s all I can buy. Again, there’s a good chance they’ll end up at the charity store.

A good pair of cotton jeans will soften up with every wear and wash.

No, the stretch jeans aren't great, but I do have a few pairs of skinny jean hybrids that are cotton but not denim. They stretch and are called Travelers from Banana Republic. They never lose their shape and are especially comfortable on trips. I look like a spider with my skinny legs, but I don't care. They are comfortable. (That's not me in the pic!)

Hey you look very smart. 👍

I also like your bicycle. Wow!

I have two pair and rarely wear them. Jeans are not comfortable for me. If I do wear them as soon as I get home I change my clothes. In my past life I wore them almost daily.
