Heard an interesting phrase...

Overthinking kills happiness..

Do you overthink situations?

AND, how does that that work out for you? 🤔

Yes. I over-think to the point when it is too late to make a decision! "This offer has expired." "It's beyond your contract's grace period to renew; etc.

I waste time thinking and procrastinating until it's too late, just to avoid having to make a decision or commitment. /-;

Oh! Yes..it takes me some time...to make decisions, too!😑

I think everyone's tolerance is different.....
I feel in past i did overthink causing me to miss out or offer expired etc....
BUT i have seen really bad results in family and friends that simply act on impulse and NEVER think about it....
happy medium is hard to define and achieve

There is a balance point. A moderation. Some situations call for decisive action, but we should have theoretically considered possible risks of situations we might find ourselves in. Major life choices are generally best made after thought, research, and. objective assessment of our own strengths and weaknesses.

In my working years, we called it analysis paralysis.

I tend to overthink things and finally ask myself what's the worst that can happen.

If I can handle the worst, I'm good to go.
My Dad would tell us."Be prepared, mentally and physically for 'the worst'. By doing so you are usually prepared for any lesser bad outcome as well. What's more if anything less than worst happens there's relief that you were plenty prepared and it wasn't the worst. Statistically, despite Murphy's Law, and depending on what you are doing the worst is not more common then great, good,.neutral or just kind of bad outcomes.

I used to a lot but have learned to slow my mind down (what's left of it) when I do find myself in that situation. Nice benefit is that the committee that used to be in my head when I went to bed is not longer there !
