We have not done this in a long time and have many new members. So how did you pick your nickname?

Mine is Lee, it really is my first name and there are times I wish I had chosen a cooler nickname....sigh

What about you.

My first choice was Spangler, but it was rejected, or refused, or whatever computers do when they know that they are far cleverer than the one typing the keyboard.
Why Spangler? Google: "Spangler Arlington Brugh," it might explain.

Horseless Carriage came about because of my 75 year old MG. Had I used the car's nickname of Jessica, it might have raised eyebrows.

my only friend I'd met in this small town died 2 years ago...i had picked bingo before she died...because of her....
I never went to bingo...but she'd go with an old lady here that loved to gamble...so the old gal wouldn't have to go alone...I thought that was great of her...I think of her...always

When I joined the senior forums, I chose the name Ruby, but because there was already RubyK :), I was asked to change it to avoid confusion. That was NP. Rather than try to come up with a new name, I decided to just go with my real nickname, which my father gave me when I was born, and that's Bella... as in bella bambina.

I grew up loving&watching movies, before the pandamic hit, I would go to movie theater 1-3 times/month.It was a favorite hobby,I haven't been back yet, who knows if I ever will
I chose 'moviequeen1' as my nickname,Matrix picked my avatar shows an out door movie screen, perfect Sue

i used a different search engine but the result was interesting. i hadn't known this, tho i was aware of the birth name of several other actors of his generation. Thanks!

Since i first started in Chat Rooms in early 2000's (AOL, Yahoo, IVillage, Eons, Ello, Boomerville, and here) i've used 'fey___' as a screen name. A fey person is someone tuned in to both natural and 'supernatural' worlds (personally i think most of what is called supernatural is real phenomena we simply haven't fully discovered the mechanisms of how they work). i've been feyone, feypoet (on Ello an International 'arts' site) and early on i realized that while i resisted my feyness, and certainly displayed to random people less in my youth i have accepted it and become more open about it--so the 'fey' won.

I was nearing retirement and a young pilot referred to me as “oldman.” The supervisor heard him, called him into the office and I guess he reamed him out for being disrespectful. The young pilot spent most of our flight apologizing and telling me he had all the respect in the world for me, etc. I had to finally tell him to stop it. It’s over and I’m OK with it. We flew together a few more times before I retired and I enjoyed my time with him. He was actually one of those people that wanted to learn and asked a lot of questions, which a lot of pilots find annoying, but I never did. If I thought you wanted to learn, I was happy to teach you.
