Neighbor's kicked me off their property because of a fall.

The neighbor's is two boys one is 42 and other is 30. My blood sugar went down to low and my legs got weak. I just set down on the grass in front of their house for 15 minutes and I got something to eat and was back to normal. They freaked out. I carry sugar pills with me at all times. They said they couldn't help me get up so I had get myself up.

I am lucky that I live in a neighborhood and community where people do look after one another, that do help.

I have I had people drive my Mom to my house when she got tired when walking. I have neighbors call an ambulance when she fell in the street walking. I have had strangers in my community help me wrangle an 80lb dog. Help me catch and get him back home. A new neighbor who I did not know, knocked on my door. The big dog went out the gate. Most people would run, he can be scary looking. She told him to go back in the yard. He did, she tried to close the gate and it would not latch. How nice is that, son did not latch the gate right when he had mowed.

I have Hypoglycemia, but not an acute version. It can happen at any time if I don’t pay attention to my diet. Now, I carry an epipen with Epinephrine in it. I have never had to use it. Mine has a 12 month shelf life, so every year about the same time, (I go 11 months) I get a new one and donate the old one to the hospital who gives them to patients whose insurance won’t pay for them. Luckily, my insurance pays for up to 6 pens per year, but like I said, I have never had to use even one.

Epinephrine can be used for other things too, like someone suffering from bee stings or even anaphylaxis and will give a person in diabetic shock short term relief.

My insurance wouldn't pay for the shot and I would have to pay 800.00 for it so I don't have the shot. I buy this drink in little bottles instead called Glucose shots sold at Wal-mart.

Sorry to read your rather sad story but not surprised. We live in a society where people stare at their "smart" phones all day but will not help a neighbour. I believe that most folks are still decent but sometimes you meet a self-centered jerk and there is nothing to be done about it.

I really believe what "goes around, comes around." Help a neighbour and that neighbour will one day help you. You can also kick a dog and he will bite you. I think the helping neighbour is the best investment in good will.

You probably already know that they make an epipen exclusively for diabetics with glucagon in it. I knew they were expensive and that’s why I donate my old ones. I saw a sign in the hospital that read a person can get free epipens, depending on their income. May be worth checking out.

In the past they call me an old man at 61. I was going to put up a real nice plastic fence between me and them and pay for it but not now. I thinking about selling out and moving to retirement resort for old people.
Robert, you can't always choose good neighbors, you got an unlucky draw with those jerks. You are not old at 61 and you might find that a retirement resort will not fit your lifestyle.

In my neighborhood when the ambulance showed up for hubby 3 neighbors immediately called and two came running over. All wanted to help.

sorry you fell robert. i'm guessing with all the frivolous lawsuits these days they may have been worried about injuring you while helping and maybe being sued. it has happened to people. i wouldn't want to move someone who fell unless i absolutely had to. not out of being cruel just looking after my own welfare. as well as being concerned about hurting that person. they could've called for help for you.

I think the people rushing by need a war to smarten themselves up. They are self-centered, materialistic and perhaps mean spirited. A war where some of their family members would perish would definitely teach them something about the value of life.
