FYI: Test Detects Heart Disease Earlier & Easier Than A Stress Test...

Electronic Beam Tomography (EBT) photographs the heart between beats
and measures calcium buildup in arteries (a sign of atherosclerosis), which can lead
to heart attack.

Calcium buildup is not related to calcium intake.
EBT is non-invasive, takes approximately
10 minutes
and the cost may be covered by insurance.

It is recommended for older, either smoke, have a family history of heart disease
or high cholesterol.

Anyone? Ever had.....know of anyone who's had
and what was/how was the experience? šŸ¤—

Interesting I hope its better at predicting heart disease then a stress test. I had a stress test and was told my heart was fine and 3 months later I had a massive heart attack. That was 11 years ago and every time I have any cardiac issues doctors want to do a stress test and I tell them exactly where they can shove their stress tests!

I know this is probably an ignorant assumption but I've always felt the stress tests give a precedence to an attack.
The body remembers the stress to the heart and allows a road map to repeat the action.
(a blue print. The body remembers. and can repeat.)
I have no logical reason to believe this so I'm sure wiser folks than me can tear this assumption apart, but
that's just the way I've always felt.
I watched an aggressive nurse yelling at my late husband to "Go faster! Faster!" I wanted to scream "NO!"
Glad they came up with a different way to measure this.

Blah where I live, my heart could be quivering like jello between beats and the docs would say I'm fine. Meanwhile my husband, who was a smoker, had a whole team waiting with surgical instruments soon after the doctor put the stethoscope to his chest.
