Incoming Gannet at Bempton Cliffs on the Yorkshire coast yesterday.

Great shot of the gannet, I love the way the bird's feet are splayed to give a better landing.
I saw an Avocet at Poole Harbour back at Easter time, hadn't a clue what it was but I did notice the upturned bill. At the Dorset wild bird rescue centre, where I asked what the bird might have been. As soon as I mentioned the upturned bill they showed me a photo and told me that it was called an Avocet.

I was lucky enough to photograph a shift change on an Avocet nest with eggs in recently.
