44 migrants found dead in truck

The death toll of this tragedy has risen to 51. It's awful what maddness people will do for money, they had no regard for human beings and took addvantage of them. This also happens all the time in France. They charge afortune and give people inflatable boats not much better than a childs swimming pool, hand them some paddels and tell them the current will carry them to English shores. So many are drowned. Shame to all involved in this scam.

I have mixed feelings about these illegals. I understand the reasoning why many of them want to come to the U.S. yet I feel they should do so legally. I also don’t fully understand why they don’t stay home and try to make their country better. Our forefathers paid a terrible price for the freedoms that we have today. The people in the countries trying to come here should try to make their homeland a better place. There is a price to pay, but their future family members may be rewarded for their ancestor’s efforts. Freedom is not free.

To pick up and leave your country because it is in disarray and the economy is in horrible condition and not even try to make it a better place shows me that they prefer to take the easy way out and go to the U.S. where the hard work has already been done. Thousands of people have lost their life in this country trying to keep the U.S. the way it is. To have illegals just walk in without regard for its legal citizens, to me is kind of a slap in the face. I feel the border should be closed, unless a person enters legally.

If anyone feels offended by this post, I’m sorry, but we are all entitled to our opinions.

as opposed to this country that's not in disarray and does not have economy in horrible condition??
and in some countries citizens don't have much power or influence to change anything.

Not compared to the countries people are coming from. We are no means perfect, but compared to some others, I’ll be staying put.
I haven’t read of any of these other country’s citizens try to make their country better. I’m sure it was no picnic when the Revolutionists decided to get free of England’s hold on us.

or when the original "settlers" felt the need to escape their home countries and come here in the first place..?
