What if we are all players in a huge cosmic video game? Each player gets a different planet and can create disasters for the opponents planet and try to destroy it. Last player to still have a viable planet wins.

Exactly.
Consider how fellow humans treated new cultures as they stumbled on them. Can't imagine an interstellar species that couldn't understand our languages or customs would be kinder.

On HULU the program The Orville has a decent array of what life on other planets might look like. Maybe made in an image of their creator or only the great imagination of what life on other planets could look like.

Unlikely intelligent life from another planet would want to inhabit earth now since were doing a good job of destroying earth. Waiting another 30 years when humans here are at each other for the remaining resources would make more sense.
