Please provide your source. Not doubting citrus foods are healthy but would like to read the scientific study that shows these results.

I'm at high risk for esophageal cancer because I have chronic acid reflux. The acid reflux makes it impossible for me to eat citrus fruit which I've always loved. Just a taste of an orange or grapefruit makes me start coughing when the juice hits my throat.

In fact when I had Covid it was drinking orange juice that sent me to the hospital. I thought, I'm sick, I really should drink some orange juice even if it gives me acid reflux. I drank about 2 ounces, immediatly projectile vomited across the room, and then fainted. My son called 911.

So this article is saying the thing that tops most lists of what you should avoid when you have GERD or acid reflux (just google it) is what will keep you from getting its related cancer? Okay.

Thanks for the link.

I eat fruit daily but not the same kind of fruit each day. It depends what's in season.

That said, year-round there are apples in the fridge, mixed berries in the freezer, and cans of pineapple chunks in unsweetened pineapple juice in the pantry.

Doctors and lay persons knew a lot more before 1950/1960 it seems.
See/get the book on the bay or the river (amazon) for under $25.
"Nutrition the Cancer Answer" by Salaman.

Also might like "50 cases" Max Gerson, MD, who testified before congress to try to get them to approve already proven ways to prevent and to reverse cancer.

It's kind of ironic that Salaman died of pancreatic cancer after making a career out of selling cancer cures.

Stephen Barrett of Quackwatch wrote that her books "contain hundreds of unsubstantiated suggestions for using foods, dietary supplements, and herbs for a wide range of diseases and conditions."

Max Gerson described his approach in the book A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases (1958). The National Cancer Institute evaluated Gerson's claims and concluded that his data showed no benefit from his treatment. The therapy is both ineffective and dangerous.

hahaha. A pawn of pharmakeia ? What do you think the profiteers of bigpharma have always done to prevent known and proven remedies from being more popular eh ? Inexpensive helps that would eliminate the need for the druglords products almost entirely if only people knew.

Question: Is it causation or association? Anyone eating an orange a day has this benefit or do people who are likely to eat an orange a day have other healthy habits?
Good question. My wife and I eat a satsuma, that's a small, sweet orange, a plum, pear, apple, banana and nectarine everyday. We enjoy fresh cooked meals, never eat takeaways. Neither of us smoke, our only alcohol is an occasional glass of wine. Our exercise comes from dancing and that diet ensures that we never need laxatives.
