"Great Depression Cooking" Italian Ice.

I made this with lemon. I heated the water and sugar (I use the natural kind) in the microwave in a soup mug, added the fresh lemon and put it in the fridge, then the freezer. Stirred a few times. Took several hours. It was very good and cheap.
I watched this and was very surprised that she added the flavors at the end. Your order of doing things makes much more sense.

@StarSong I wondered about that also. But perhaps when she was a kid, they made the ice and then the family members could add the flavors they liked at the end? Not sure. The lemon was very good. I didn't bother measuring anything.
