Need suggestions on Searching for old threads

Sometimes I know for sure, that we had a specific older thread, with some very helpful info and posts full of ideas, on a particular subject.

But not knowing the thread title that was used at the time, I put various word possibilities into the Search function we have on this site, and get no listings, or few, and none that I intended.

This often happens on a Health topic, but it might be other sections as well.

The result of the Search, is often, that nothing could be found.

Often it says that my key words were eliminated, because they were too short or too common. Makes sense but I don't know how to find them, then.

For example, I don't know any better words that were in the Thread Title, other than the ones I think of,
such as: Eye Pain from Dryness, or Dry Eye solutions.... etc.....

(The result told me that the word eye

is too short for the Search :giggle::D)

Any suggestions for how to find older SF threads, better than I have been able?

By the way, I do not have this problem when I use any of the online search engines. I seem to do fine choosing key words to get my goal topics, when I use those, so perhaps there is some hint I am missing, on using the type we have for just our Site.

Though actually, I had a thread in mind, that I am sure was started much more recently than that one,
by present members we still have. :unsure:o_O:rolleyes:

That's the one I had in mind! Thank you, Holly!πŸ˜„πŸ˜β˜ΊοΈπŸ₯°

SO, perhaps the solution whenever I have this frequent difficulty locating previous threads,
is to tag @hollydolly ? πŸ˜†
My grateful thanks to @Pepper for that useful suggestion! πŸ˜„

If this thread was a contest, then Pepper would win something, but it isn't.
Sorry!🀣
But Holly might have wanted you to split the prize anyway. πŸ˜„πŸ™ƒπŸ˜

I would think so..given I did all the ruddy work...:ROFLMAO:

The Google custom search is more helpful when searching for old threads. It disappeared unexpectedly when adding the dark style, just added it back.

I also had difficulties locating old threads, I always wanted to put together a list of good threads, a few good ones for each topic, members can easily find an old good thread for most specific topics.

Kudos to @hollydolly for being so helpful. (y) Sometimes I can't find something in a search when I specify 'title', but will have success if I just search any posts.

After I click Search, I sometime choose "this forum" and that will get me more specific results. Sometimes I'm unsuccessful and just give up. :p
