The law of attraction, questions???

Good, thoughtful post which leaves me to ponder. I have had bad things happen to me that devastated me for a while. At some point later on, I realized they were actually blessings in disguise. I do somewhat believe in the laws of attraction.

@Patricia You said: "Who in their right mind would argue with the psychologist?" I don't know if you were being facetious but my (half) brother told me we have a psychologist in the family who owns an island somewhere (not in U.S. territory) and who is batsh*t crazy. 🤪 I met my brother and some others in that part of my family when I was 51 y.o. but never did meet that cousin.

No. My intention was to deflect that someone with a title said something that is debatable. Mentioning the title could encourage readers skimming through the thread to place too much emphasis on the reliability of the subject matter. My remark was a result of research I've done in the past regarding professional intimidation. My research had nothing to do with the field of psychology, but professional intimidation can apply to any profession. The mention here was just a response to an aspect of professional intimidation in the whole scheme of things.

I wasn't familiar with the term, had to Google it. Appears to be a belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life. That sounds reasonable to me on the surface, without making a whole thing of it.
The attitude "I can do this" will get you more success in living than "I can't do this....".
I'm glad you checked because I'd only assumed it meant something like that, (hence my "price of fish" comment above).

I do know I've read somewhere recently about the importance of negative thinking, (as well as positive obviously), but I can't remember the exact context so I'll not guess this time, except to say it had something to do with assessments of risk, and your overall chances of success in life! :)

I like the way you are always thinking, and there is something to be said for that.

Mmmm, well maybe but thinking alone isn't on its own quite enough is it(?)

As a teenager I was very guilty of daydreaming my time away, and it isn't/wasn't going to lead to you becoming a man all that well, (because you've got to get a little tougher for that to happen for example,...., perhaps you'd agree?).

You seem to give much thought to matters. I assume you've made many contributions. Whether your contributions are noticed, appreciated or acknowledged doesn't matter in the context I'm referring.

There is a major flaw in the LOA. Farmer A wants rain for his wilting crops, and farmer B wants a long clear period to bring his crops in. So, which farmer gets to attract the "good". And exactly where is the clearing house that determines whose wants get answered. And exactly what physical mechanism is it that transmits the "attractions".
Sorry, but Bugs Bunny always outwitting Elmer Fudd is a more realistic theory.

It is very very very very very very powerful. (intimidation and all associated with it).
No one would have gotten fooled so completely recently , for the last three years, everywhere on earth,
if the leaders had simply told the truth and dismissed the lies. Instead, intimidation was forcefully applied, with law and authorities and guns and threats and arrests and censureship and censorship and lie upon lie upon lie, the whole complete system of lies.
