The story is set in 50's London,a widowed cleaning lady,Ada Harris sees a lovely Dior dress in of one of the homes she works at, longs to get one herself. She raises the funds off to Paris she goes not knowing any one there
The experience changes her outlook on life and the house of Dior
A sweet, lovely movie with wonderful cast,Lesley Manville{Mrs Harris},Ellen Thomas,her friend Vi, Jason Issac 'Archie another friend,Isabelle Hupert 'Claudine' saleswoman at Dior
This was the 1st time Alexei&I have gone to the movies together since 2019,I haven't been in a movie theatre since 2020 Sue aka moviequeen
 

I read a review in the paper a few days ago, and the rhyming title of the movie, caught my interest.

I saw it. Okay very unrealistic pleasant story of very lucky lady. No interesting plot bad guys or crimes or suspense. Great acting and lots of beautiful dresses. Save your money

It's a "chick-flick". We take breaks from "action" movies once in a while and I put on a chick-flick. It gives the soul a lift and a belief that there is still good in the world besides violence :)
 
If you ask me there are way too many movies geared to the 16 year olds (what is this thing called SEX?) and not enough movies about seniors in a positive way. A lot of senior movies show us as dirty old men, grouchy old men or just plain "Bad Grandpa" stereo types. I'm always watching for good movies for seniors and sometimes don't see anything for months.

The senior population is growing every year. Hollywood needs to take notice. It could be a "cash cow" for them if they could only see beyond 16 year old girls and 18 year old boys going nuts with their hormones. We need more of "Driving Miss Daisy" and less of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

Packerjohn, this thread was about my review of Mrs Harris, I don't understand why you went 'off topic' has nothing do with the movie MQ
 
Sorry, I never saw the Mrs. Harris movie as I haven't gone to a movie theater for decades. So sorry! But I do like movies having some mature characters. I suppose it's my age. Darn it!
