A day to yourself....

The household chores are up to date, you have no appointments or family commitments the weather is fine and you have the whole day free to do whatever you choose, how will you spend your day ?

I'm going to shave my head totally bald, I might even put some of those transfer tattoos on my body, I'm too much of a wimp to get the real ones, and if I get tired of the new look, I'll let my hair grow again and wash off the tattoos.
Or, I might just watch this thread and see what all the other members get up to.
You haven't told us what you are going to do, Wren. 😊

Guess I'm doing it, and for me that generally means working on some kind of task. When ever I take "time off" I always feel like there is something else I should be doing, and I really suck at doing nothing. Probably walking with the dog, and watching her antics is my biggest free time activity.

I decided to go for a hot bath instead.
I did catch a glimpse of my mane of silver hair in a mirror and thought, "People would pay a fortune for those curly locks", then chickened out of shaving it off.
Got out of the bath and decided to trim my toe-nails, which I'd swear are getting further and further away from my reach, what a struggle, and going to one of those 'chip-shopperists is too expensive for me.
Anyway, I've struck up a deal with the lovely lady over the road, she has agreed to trim my toe-nails if I give her grass a trim. Good deal, or what? 😊

Glad to hear you preserved those locks! I love them!

If the weather is nice and nothing else is planned then I would grab my golf clubs and hit the muni golf course that is close to where I live. It's short and not very challenging but I like going there when alone because it is cheap and a great way to spend the time outdoors. If the weather is not nice and I have the time then I will hop in my vehicle and take an unplanned road trip somewhere up north. Have not done that in awhile though because of gas prices.

Oh, I remember those mini trips up north out of the valley when living there! ...did that on weekends mostly.
There were so many places to venture around, and I remember visiting with Indian children selling their goods along the road to Flagstaff.

I still have a big chunk of turquoise rock that I found walking around in the desert one day.

I'd love to go to a huge museum like the Museum of Natural History in Chicago and just wander around all day at my own pace. No grandkids getting tired and cranky, no husband getting bored, no one saying, "let's go over here!" Just a serene, perfect day.
Love that museum, was there a few years ago.
When I lived in Chicago, I'd go there or the Museum of Science and Industry. I went once to the Adler Planetarium too.

My car, my lovely lady and I went to a classic car meeting.

Held at Christchurch Quay. We caught up with many old friends, enjoyed their company and their hospitality. The sun shone but the temperature was bearable. It was really good to get out once more.

Later, we dined out here at a former railway station. We had a traditional Sunday lunch, both our car and our appearance had the phone cameras click, clicking away. Can I charge royalties?

It would depend on the weather for me, a nice sunny day I’d walk on the beach, meeting up with friends for coffee and lunch by the sea

A cooler day would be a walk to town checking out the shops, any new art exhibitions etc. again meeting friends for coffee and lunch

Well, I'm always alone, so, I generally sculpt, (because I love it so)
or paint, or design something, listen to my old rock and roll records,
watch an old black and white movie, or turn off everything and
write articles, books, poetry. Hang around my dog. Do home repairs.
or,
I might take off somewhere to be near a mountain stream, nature, fresh air.
I guess every day is a day to myself. Gettin kinda sick of
having only ME for company though!
Here's the sculpture I 'm working on right now, but I'm just starting it.

@Gaer, that's beautiful! I've seen much of your collection on line and I have great admiration for your work.
