Your second sentence is absolutely correct. Also, we Muslims follow the Quran and the sunna (hadith( of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and we are taught that it is a sin to kill innocents. Suicide is also a major sin, so those who enact suicide bombings, allegedly in the name of Islam are actually committing grave sins.

And re the OP: Doesn't say much for his security team. He was stabbed several times before they restrained the perp.

Hope this thread doesn't turn into a US v Canada thing. I really like Canada and the Canadian people, and if it weren't so damned cold I might consider living there.

I can understand criticism of violence in the US, particularly gun things due to the easy availability of guns, but this was a knife attack, by a real nut case. And we have no monopoly on those... I am sure we have more serial killers, but Canada has it's share too.

And a Christian can be radicalized on any given Sunday if they are psychologically and/or emotionally vulnerable. imo, it comes down to a person's vulnerability, not their religion, heritage, or race.

I wonder about the safety of the people in general who are on stage and are vulnerable to attacks. They really have no chance of help from the audience/security team. I think the reason might be at first there's a moment of shock from anyone, and it takes a moment or two just digesting the whole situation before anyone can spring to action. I know I would have been in shock at Rushdie's incident. Right now, the image of Will Smith's attack comes to mind. No one came to the other guy's assistance when Smith attacked him....hmmm...

I understand what you mean.. however in this instance.. the security men had ONE job... :confused:

And should have been trained to spring into action without that moment of hesitation you are I would have...

The attacker sounds like an amateur, and given that it was a knife attack you'd think the security guys should have done better... He stabbed Rushdie 10 times before he was stopped.
