Family Cosplay

My son, Liam, makes costumes for himself, his wife, and their 2 youngest kids, Kirk and Ariel, and 5 or 6 times every year they attend these comic book conventions, aka Comic-Cons, anime conventions, aka Anime-Cons, and fantasy conventions, aka Wizard-World.

Liam's really good at making these costumes. His wife's been paid (by convention organizers) to pose with visitors in her Wonder-Woman costume, and he's been paid to wear his Jedi costume. But Liam doesn't actually sew. I've done all the sewing, he uses fabric adhesives where he can.

Anyway, at this weekend's summer convention, Liam, Kirk, and Ariel went the way of Batman and cosplayed Mr. Freeze, the Penguin, and the Joker, respectively. My DIL cosplayed Wonder-Woman, as the organizers requested.

Amazing! Your son has talent! Also, to be able to take thrift store clothing etc. and turn them into costumes and wear them sounds like fun!

It's one of his favorite hobbies. And he's been doing this for years so got a closet full of his costumes. I told him he ought to rent them out for Halloween and to other cosplayers. That would at least cover getting them cleaned on a regular basis.
